What an excellent setlist, I've been missing Kamera for quite awhile. And I mentioned last night how I wished Wilco would bring back How To Fight Loneliness. Nice seeing I'm Always In Love too, Summerteeth was well represented. Looks like a great, great show. I can't wait to get a source of this. --Mike

All right I can see that, I do like the 2003 versions of it quite a bit. It was a little slower, and it was before the call and response ending. --Mike

Well you've been here for awhile, the time machine thing just opened itself up for a series of smartass comments. You're free to be upset about people voicing their concerns over the new material, but they're equally free to do so. Now while taking the high ground in this argument, I'd recommend not using a third grade level insult such as funny machine. It's really hard to take anything you say seriously after leading off with that. --Mike

The pitchfork review was great, I got this in the mail today. I've had the leaked version for awhile, but it is an excellent record. Another album of the year contender. This band is one of the 5-10 best acts making music today, in my humble opinion. --Mike

What don't you like about it now? Too loud, too much noise, not a fan of the scream along part? I'd like them to bring the acoustic guitar part back, and I'm the Man Who Loves You is screaming for Pat to get off the porno keyboards and play the acoustic. Anyway the BT version does have a bit of a groove that's kind of lost in the shuffle, but I love that song everyway they play it. Well I am not always hanging on every note of the 10+ minute jams during the Bennett era, when they'd do it live. --Mike

I was the only one in my section that knew the new songs . Yeah Impossible Germany was excellent, one of the many highlights of the night, Nels Cline was certainly essential for that performance. I really hope someone taped this, so I can get a copy of this show. --Mike

Did it have a drum solo? Did Jeff scream at least twice while singing? Was Nels on fire throughout the whole performance? If you answered yes to any of the above it is likely the new tune. --Mike

Yeah I understand your concerns, the new song doesn't exactly have any subtlety it's like Casino Queen, the fast version, on steroids. Walken has some pretty exciting moments musically, but the other songs don't quite have the subtle brilliance of Ghost, the first Loose Fur record and BAITUSA. I'm kind of hoping the studio process will bring that out in some of the songs. Though a big worry of mine is that as great as this new six piece band is live in the studio it might become a situation where there are too many cooks, now Ghost was essentially recorded as a six piece (with O'Rourke), but t

I've been going through a lot of the 2002/2003 era shows for the AGIB complation I am working on and Muzzle of Bees and Theologians were a little rough, Theologians much more so, when they were played in their early incarnations. I think most of the songs got a lot better when they were completed for the album. So I wouldn't quite write the new stuff off yet. I'm a Wheel is probably my least favorite song on A Ghost is Born, but that's comparable to being my least favorite relative. It's kind of stupid, but I still love it. --Mike

Based on one listen I think it is, hopefully the shows will circulate soon and people can judge for themselves. It rocks a little harder then I'm a Wheel, the lyrics are better and Tweedy's vocal performance was pretty unbeatable last night. --Mike

No problem, every set isn't going to grab everyone and you've certainly contributed much more to discussions on the band then harping about what you don't like in every post. The noise outros of both of those songs were a little longer then they've played them in the past and the end of Handshake was a little on the intense side. But, I haven't seen them since the middle of 2004 (one of the new lineups first shows) so seeing them now as tight as they are was pretty incredible for me. This making me very excited for Tall Stacks . I hope they bust Poor Places/Reservations out to close the set tonight. And Is That The Thanks I Get? is actually an orginial, Jeff wrote it for Solomon Burke, but he didn't get to him in time for the recording of his last record. So now it's a Wilco song. --Mike

I am a big fan of the Terrastock set, the Cow Haus show is fair quality but the performance is great. I'll probably end up grabbing the Lounge Ax one hear pretty soon, that's one I don't have. --Mike

Yeah it's pretty good, there's a video on the disc as well. Worth checking out. And Jeff does play on the Olivia's Dusk at Cubist Castle. I am almost positive that Jeff actually came up with the name Olivia Tremor Control. --Mike

Yeah but you suggested giving this title and therefore I'll send you both the compliation (don't worry about a B&P) when it's finished. Quick note on that, it will be seeded to the vc bit torrent and I'll also start a tree to help out the torrent less, still about a month or so from completion, but progress is certainly being made. --Mike
