  1. Does anyone have the 9-2-2002 Bumbershoot Festival or the 9-6-2002 show from the Warfield in San Fransisco. I am curious to hear the Spiders from either of these shows to see if they are any different from the early versions of it from the spring 2002 dates or if it sounds like the 10-14-2002 boot. Any opinions on the pre-drone Less Than You Think or the pre-windmill I'm a Wheel? --Mike
  2. Yeah there are about three or four different variations that I've heard of Spiders in the shows I have from the period. There is the earliest version which I find more Eno then arena rock, by late 2002 they actually had Leroy playing acoustic guitar on it, and then they changed the intro up a bit for the summer/fall shows in 2003. I'd like to feature every version of it and one of the early Tweedy acoustic versions. That Wishful Thinking is defiently going on it as well. --Mike
  3. I have that one in my collection, but I am not sure if it's the Soundboard copy that's on the tracker, I'll have to check it out. ATLWYS has stayed pretty similar though in the Spring 2003 shows it was a little longer and there are some unbelieveably good versions of it with the Minus 5 with Jessie Green on violin. It sounds like Fairport Convention. --Mike
  4. I was at that show, my first, so that show will be represented. There are about four or five different variations of the pre-Kraut Rock Spiders that I'd like to include, one of my favorites is from a set they did in October of 2002 at the 9:30 club in D.C, which actually features Leroy on acoustic guitar. I am glad to see there's some interest in this. I am hoping to start compiling all I have over the next few weeks, and I'll post some mp3's here as samples. --Mike
  5. Looks pretty interesting I'll have to keep an eye out for it. --Mike
  6. This is really amazing. I was kind of late on the Milk Eyed Minder train, but that one slowly won me over and this one is great too. --Mike
  7. Unless he joins XTC, which might not be a bad fit, if Andy Patridge ever decides to write another album. --Mike
  8. Anyone want to guess how many posts it will be until someone mentions something about answering the question and perhaps makes a statement refering to us as highly messed up freaks? --Mike
  9. What about Two Cow Garage? --Mike
  10. One of my favorite stations on the net. It's been coming for awhile but still very sad. --Mike
  11. I've only been able to give that one a few spins but really like what I heard the first times, hopefully I'll get to that after I finish with Wow is pretty much the only apt adjective for this one so far. --Mike
  12. Downloading this one right now, looking forward to it. --Mike
  13. Does Lullabys for Rafters and Beams count? --Mike
  14. It fades a bit by about side three, the first part of the second half, but I think the last couple of tracks are all really strong. It's even further all over the place then Heart, so it's probably going to take awhile for it all to sink in. I might have gotten a little carried away by saying it's on "Heart's" level, but I do think it's a really good record. Beanbag Chair, Mr. Tough, The Weakest Part and Black Flowers are up there with some of my favorite Yo La Tengo songs. Ultimately I have no objectivity when it comes to my favorite groups, I loved Summer Sun, so I am probably not the most
  15. Through the Beat Your Ass Season Pass, which you can get to by pre-ordering the record. Incredible stuff, this band keeps getting better and better with age, this one gives I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One a run for it's money. --Mike
  16. I think each lineup since Glenn joined has been perfect and really like the 2002-2003 shows with Leroy/Mike/Jeff/John and Glenn. I think Jeff was really starting to branch out and do some incredible things with the electric guitar, I love Leroy's talent on keyboards and guitar and Mike's addition of sonic weight is really interesting. So I am not sure that the addition of Nels and Pat is the absolute essential end all be all of Wilco lineups, but they certainly have the ability now to do a lot more on stage with the songs then they ever have before. And they have the potential to be the best w
  17. I have the Montreal one up at the moment and it does sound a little off, not bad but the tone is not as good as he usually has it, Jeff's acoustic doesn't sound great on this one either. Don't worry too much about the typo either, there are people that get paid to spell Nels name for a living, people that review Wilco shows, that still can't get it. --Mike
