I got the e-mail but overlooked the podcast announcement, it's taking forever to download but I am sure it will be well worth the trouble. --Mike

No I just followed the link and I don't have a myspace. Thanks so much for sharing this, that was hysterical. --Mike -
(((Blood On The Tracks))) the breakup thread
mpolak21 replied to Jaymie's topic in Someone Else's Song
Great stuff but Elliott Smith hasn't been mentioned yet, his entire catalouge gets visited anytime I even think of a break up. --Mike -
Yeah I was 14 and thought Pavement was the thing my road was made out of when they broke up, I'd love to see them live, and I think Spiral Stairs and Stephen have done some great stuff post-Pavement. I think it would actually work, even if they don't record another album. Great interview, Spiral explaining how he had to put the tapes in an oven was fascinated. I'm really looking forward to hearing this one as well as the future resissues. --Mike

A quick bump.. Was a little busy with school work this week, but my weekend is wide open and I'll have a working tracklisting of the project finished and hopefully up here with in the next couple of days. --Mike

If so we could finally get a mastered version of one of their best unrealeased tracks Sprial Stairs' For Sale of The Preston School of Industry --Mike

Matador is continuing it's great run off Pavement re-realeases with the band's third realease Wowee Zowee http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/article/news..._Tracklist_Reve It's a little annoying having to rebuy all of these, but the Slanted and Crooked Rain reissues were certainly worth it and this one looks stacked as well. --Mike

A classic. --Mike

This is one of my favorites, Scott's songwriting is great and Wilco makes a fine backing band. The Old Plantation is probably my favorite track though the record is loaded. --Mike

That was a pretty entertaining typo, way too good for to fix with the edit button. --Mike

You know I've noticed some parallels between the new stuff and that record also. Jeff has played Walk On solo twice recently and he's a fan of Neil Young. If the new Wilco album is anything has great as On The Beach were going to be in for a real threat. --Mike

Me too --Mike

I'll try to help out as well after I get stuff for this project set up. --Mike

Yeah he's a WVU guy and I still don't like him. Looks like Chris Henry and Pacman Jones are begining to follow his example albeit to a whole new extreme. --Mike

Thanks a lot, I'll send you an e-mail sometime within the next couple of days. Oh by the way anyone have a particular favorite of Handshake Drugs or Muzzle of Bees from that period. I know I am going to have to include the 9-19-2003 version of Handshake as it's the first time Nels played with the band and I'll have the soundstage version from earlier that year as well. Thanks for the recommendation of the 6-28-2003 show, that's a great one. The Not For The Season with O'Rourke is particularly kicking, that would have been a hell of a first show to see. --Mike

Thanks a lot, if I need anything I'll let you know. I did some work on Wilcobase this morning and I am thinking this is probably be going to be a four disc set with about 70-75 different tracks from Wilco, Tweedy, and Minus 5 shows. Basically anything they played between 2002-2003 that wasn't realeased or was being realeased (in the case of Loose Fur, Down With Wilco and the More Like The Moon EP) is going on. I'll try to include all variations of the Ghost songs from the Wilco shows and a Tweedy solo performance of each. --Mike

Anibal Sanchez of the serging Flordia Marlins, they beat the Diamondbacks 2-0, here's the story. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=260906128. --Mike

It's actually just the article he did on Wilco in Spin before A Ghost is Born, he interviewed Jeff right before he had the series of panic attacks that he went into rehab for. It's a pretty good read, though he gets Spencer's name wrong (he calls him Seth). The other mention is in a short story Chuck wrote that comes at the end, Being There is playing in the background during a romantic tryst, which all things considered is probably the best Wilco album to have in the background during a romantic tryst. I liked it quite a bit, even though I was familar with about 35% of the material, since

Just wait until I tell Suchfan about this --Mike

This is Jeremy Barnes of Neutral Milk Hotel's project right? I've been meaning to check them out. I am currently spinning Quite enjoyable. --Mike

Grizzly Bear the album is called Yellow House it came out yesterday here I believe. Has an Elliott Smith and Nick Drake meets The High Llamas kind of feel to it. I am really enjoying it. --Mike

Man this is really good. Thanks for the link and the cool story. --Mike

Stephen Colbert's least favorite band perhaps? Looks like another album of the year contender, damn these guys are good. --Mike

"I don't think it sounds like a dervit." Genius. --Mike

I need to hunt down a non-MP3 version of that version, I want it to use it. --Mike
