  1. I f*(ing kid you not, when it got to the end part of Either Way and Jeff sang that part, the sun came out.
  2. Read the rules man, no direct links. I managed to find it pretty easy using Google. It ain't hard. It's worth mentioning that yes, these tracks clearly haven't been mastered, so the actual send on record could end up with alot more edge to it.
  3. I think after hearing these three, I can wait. In my opinion, the only thing that sounds mellow, at least on these tracks, is Kotche. He isn't bashing the cymbals alot, even on parts like the end of Walken.
  4. Jeff's vocals sound GREAT. You can tell that he's happy, and not dying from migraines. It's wonderful. Am I the only one that half expects you are my face to end in a noise fest? :-D
  5. That would be a sweet show indeed.
  6. I love Via Chicago. I talk about you guys all the time to friends...they think I'm nuts, but that isnt the only reason.
  7. Awwww, JUST saw this, catching the end of the MMJ show.
  8. It's just chords, man. Listen to it, play piano, figure it out, learn something.
  9. Seriously...I mean they've compared to Being There so much yet that was a double album, so I'm hoping that means we'll get a nice chunk of bonus stuff. As far as dad rock goes...I'm 18 and I love Wilco. Sure, the've gotten a bit more mellow over time. And seeing Wilco live after seeing My Morning Jacket the night before was a really sharp contrast...but hey...it makes their catalouge much richer when you see the music change with the people. It's one reason why I'd prefer Wilco to say...Son Volt. Sure, Son Volt may always be bringing on the alt country rock, but as a musician I can relate
  10. Awesome. I love early Genesis...and his first solo album. The rest I just like alot.
  11. I really didn't like Prince's performance. It made me think two things: " Hey....they shoulda gotten CCR to play, and 'Man, the foo fighters would've been a good choice for half-time."
  12. This cover made me think of The Fire Theft. Uncle Mountain, anyone?
  13. Eisenhower is glorious. I also saw them open for MMJ and that's what got me into them.
  14. If Obama quits smoking, what sort of message does that send to the terrorists?
  15. You could be like me, and use heavier strings. I never have ANY tuning problems. Heavier strings stay in tune better. All this crap I see people bitching about, having to replace tuners, tuning inbetween songs, capos etc., I've never had to deal with any of it. Just grab a set of 11s. I only use 12s on aucostic these days, and those work well too.
  16. I was talking to my bassist on the phone the other night, and there was this sound that just kept getting louder in the background. "What are you doing? What that noise? .....is that the drone?" "...so what if it is?" It was. Mabye you had to be there.
  17. Theres a good bit from last year when they played 'is that the thanks i get?' at chapel hill. He talks at the end about being a 'fucked-up-indie kid'. I wish I had the mp3 on this computer, but mabye you guys have that one.
  18. I was there....God bless GA, I was right up front. I didn't catch the setlist either, I was way too busy enjoying the show. I don't think I actually breathed until I was on my way out. It was a completly different experience than going to see Wilco the next day...where I paid almost twice as much to get stuck up in the 2nd balcony.
