    Hate It Here

'my' is easier to sing high than 'our', imo.
  2. you listen to when your ALREADY in a good mood. Any other Wilco album is great for listening to when your in a shitty mood to make you feel better.
  3. Nah, its gotta have one f....
  4. I have had nothing but bad luck and hardship dealing with the preorders and such on musictoday.
  5. I think Someone Elses's Song is pretty depressing. Mabye just becuase I'm a songwriter.... I don't think Wilco has alot of 'uplifting' songs per se, but the reason why I love them so much is it seems no matter what shit is going on, I can listen to them and it puts me in a good mood.
  6. Big suprise on who takes the solo. I'm so confused now.
  7. AM: A ( ALWAYS fun to listen to.) Being There: A+ Summerteeth: B+( I dunno why I don't like this album as much, but I like Down with Wilco. *shrug*) YHF: B+( I love this album, I just think I've listened to it WAY too many times.) AGIB: A+(mostly for personal reasons) SBS: A Mermaid Avenue Vol. 1: B Mermaid Avenue Vol. 2: B Side Projects: Loose Fur: B+ Born Again in the USA: A+ ( Until SBS came out, I was more likely to listen to this than most Wilco CDs. I think I was just overexposed to all of their standard catalog.) Down With Wilco: A (Great album any way you slice it.)
  8. Yeah seriously, I think this is the best review I've read of the album so far. Or, at least, the one I like the best.
  9. I'm really suprised I didn't see 'Grace' by Jeff Buckley anywhere. Does no one remember him anymore?
  10. I dunno. Maybe it's just because I m 19, and the vast majority of the shows I go to are local and small....I still like being in the thick of it.
  11. I saw MMJ at the Riv and didn't mind it at ALL. I got there an hour early, got right up front for MMJ. *shrug*
  12. "....or the new Center out in the NW burbs." If you mean the Sears Center, than I would say I'd rather see Wilco there than the Auditorium. I've seen them twice there, both times in the balcony ( becuase that was all I could get). You CANNOT see anything from all the way up there. The Sears Center is actually very well designed. I was there for an event a little while ago, and was all the way up in the highest balcony and I could still see the people on stage much better than even the first balcony at the Auditorium. I was suprised. I will say if they play the Auditorium I'm not goind. I'
  13. Agreed. I heard on XRT this morning, and I thought the produciton was horrible. The electric guitar sounds very 80s and cheesy, and the doubled vocals are really, really distracting. Shoulda stuck with Godrich as producer...
  14. Yeah seriously, I'd love to go, but driving out to Chicago on a Monday after work...probably not gonna fly, specially since i dont get out til 5.
  15. "Galapagos is the best." Geez, I thought me and my brother were the only people that read that book. Good stuff. He will be missed, but man, what a legacy.
  16. I haven't heard the rest of the new album ( not even sure if it's leaked) but they play this new single on XRT alot on new noise @ 9....what a killer track! Anybody else heard it?
  17. "my albums the same way. i've just always been afraid to admit it because of the backlash i'd get from downloading it. in my defense, i'm lazy and downloading is easier than ripping. where did you get your copy? torrent site?" Indeed. I was thinking mabye the person that uploaded it had this demo version that he preferred to the studio one. I'll get it moved over to this computer sometime so you guys can hear it, cause I think it's really good.
  18. I do not own a CD copy of Being There. I have bought Kicking Television, AGIB, and YHF...but I wanted to listen to the rest of the cds but have yet to have the cash to spend on all of them. I love the song The Lonely 1...and I love the take that I thought was on the album...but apparently the version if Being There I downloaded has a demo version of that song. It's a rough sounding demo, but a GREAT take, and I always assumed that they left that demo on the cd becuase it was such a great performance of the song ( it's just two guitars, and the way Jeff sings it fits the track perfectly.)..
  19. Pure conjecture, but it is known that they don't record live in the studio, doing everything track by track. Many bands that are great live tend to record live or mostly live in the studio...Wilco...MMJ...Radiohead...etc.. I've noticed with bands that don't, they aren't as strong or moving live as their record. As a muscian, I think making the record track by track as opposed to live recording of the guys playing WITH each other makes a huge difference, which ultimatley carries over live.
  20. Cool...so I just loaded that up into Napster....sounded interesting played right in the middle of Sonic Nurse.
