  1. this is about people who teach in Chicago, not about Chicago, correct?
  2. I think I'd have to vote for Keith Richards. with most rhythm players I can come decently close to covering/emulating for a bit, but there are some Keith parts--especially on acoustic--that no matter what I do I can't catch. he just has an attack and a timing that I can't duplicate. things like Let It Bleed, Sweet Virginia, Angie, there are scores of examples. also a big fan of Michael Timmins on The Trinity Session and The Caution Horses. Jeff would be in the top 5 for so many amazing tones and constant reinvention through alternate tunings, capo placements, and finding the right guit
  3. this would be a great place to discuss Sticky Fingers, which is the best Rolling Stones album.
  4. This is so exciting. If I were in Chicago you'd be getting an OTPHJ about now.
  5. thanks for another racist, hate-filled post.
  6. I hate to upset you guys, but less ≠ more. just look at it: less = more
  7. kotche's snare sound michael timmins guitar playing jeff tweedy's tones 5 is one of the best records around
  8. I have really enjoyed the live versions of radio cure of late.
  9. There are many opinions. Please discuss freely.
  10. I knew you were a Palin supporter.
  11. in this post you presume to have knowledge of Jules' thought process (or lack thereof). Just because you don't like the content of someone's post does not mean he or she didn't think about the post before posting it. sometimes being flippant takes quite a lot of thought and consideration.
  12. for the record, I don't think a group of syphilitic monkeys could make a damn thing, other than maybe more syphilitic monkeys.
  13. my client was found guilty and shot to death while trying to escape. way to open up a sore wound, guy.
  14. he had some delicious chicken. at least when I lived in Nashville in the 90s.
  15. I don't think this is a fair characterization. It's true that shareholders, who are the owners of corporations, don't necessarily make the corporations' products, but a lot of times workers do own stock in the companies for which they work. So sometimes the people who own the corporation actually do also make the corporation's stuff. I would imagine that the owners of many small to medium-sized business are very much involved in the "making" of their products. From quality control to research and development to choices about what to make and what to stop making, what infrastructure to buy
  16. I have met Jules on more than one occasion and he a bright, caring, sensitive family man who works hard and tends to the poor and disadvantaged in his free time. And he always smells fresh as the mountain rain in the spring time. he is also the leader of one of the world's largest south american commodities empires and you people should mind your business if your pets and children mean anything to you.
