I was 10 in 1986. Before Game 6 of the world series I prayed as hard as I ever had that the Mets would find a way... I have spent the next 20 years wondering if these 20 years were my payback. And also wondering if the Jets and Knicks of these past 20 years were thrown in for good measure...

Yeah I have to admit it. Your preposterous trash talking notwithstanding, these Marlins have impressed me the last few weeks. You are going to have a fun team to root for. As a baseball fan, thats something that can keep you happy for the long winter break. It aint over til its over, but still, a toast to the marlins... I can root for a team like them. They certainly have heart.

Just finished watching MetsvMarlins. These Marlins are good, but they are not a playoff team. Not this year at least... Sorry bobbob. An error and a crossup between the pitcher and catcher. Mets score 3 in the 11th. They're almost there, but they are not there yet. The Mets have nothing to play for and the Marlins are fighting for the playoffs and the Mets still won 2 of 3. This is a team I am worried about for next year. Not this year though... Two tough losses for you bobbob. But look on the bright side. The future looks promising.

When I was in jr high school my best friend and I would laugh and throw things at the TV when that video came on and they cut to Sudden Impact. Even back then we had no idea who the hell they were and it was hilarious. So great. So great. This place is too funny. I would have thought that me and my buddy were the only ones that would remember that... Not at VC.

As a new yorker, I would get a kick out of a WSox/Cubs WS. Or a Marlins/Rays WS. There's just something cool to me about natural rivals playing for all the marbles. Even if I know the plaeyrs dont care, as a fan its cool for me to think about all the fans there beating the crap out of each other for the pride of the city. Thats just me though. I was watching The Wire Season Three on HBO On Demand until they pulled it because season 4 started. Now I am in the middle of the season, cant watch it, and dont want to start on season 4 until I am done with season 3. That sucks moose balls. I suppose this post would be more aptly placed in the Was Watching thread, but I didnt see one.

Rock concerts are as much theater these days as anything. The encore is the perfect example of that. I always feel a little uncomfortable when bands leave the stage after a set and then the crowd doesnt cheer that loud, but yet they come back out for the encore anyway. Its sort of presumptuous in a way to pretend that you are coming back because the crowd demands more, even though you are really just coming back because you purposely ended your set 10 minutes before the venue's curfew. And dont get me started on the bands that do 2, 3 or 4 encores. I agree with most folks posting on
