that and the fact that jethro tull once won a grammy in the metal category and wilco won theirs for an album that wasn't nearly as good as the previous album goes to show how insignificant these awards are. merely a way for the industry to slap eachother on the back and just another televised event the general public can gawk at.

just watch ferris bueller and take notes. that's what everybody else does. see a cubs game...visit the art museum...try to find shermer, illinois...blah..blah..blah...

parking meter posts are supposed to be the same color as the meter (at least where i live) and the one pictured here is teal. i'd be calling the boston authorities if i lived near this. you can't be too careful. what happens when you put coins in it and it starts counting down to 0? that's what bombs do too...what if it exploded? somebody better get on the phone!....come on, who wants to be a hero? boston needs more heroes.

so does this begin the stage of the band where we are treated to a trio of female back-up singers and a complete horn section for the live tour? it happens to the best of 'em. i'm still waiting for the actual release to hear it, but i appreciate the first listen review. now i know a bit of what to expect. sounds interesting regardless of whether it rocks out or not. i've been a fan way to long to turn back now.

Clones, from Flush the Fashion is my favorite Alice Cooper song. I think Alice could have done alot more musically in that stage of his career if it wasn't for his alcoholism. Clones just stands out to me.

the bonus t-shirt is gonna be a wilco version of wham's "choose life" white t-shirt with big black letters. of course, it will say "choose wilco". the other side will say "wilco!". white short-shorts are optional. it was between that and the frankie goes hollywood rival "frankie say's relax".

KISS was all about the image and peter criss' character was the best of the group (imo). the music was secondary. they were comic book characters who played instruments and that was cool when i was in grade school. if you want to mention the music, peter's "Beth" was the best thing they ever did imo. other than that, it's second rate music punctuated by flash pots, blood and gene's fire breathing. an incredible live show, but way below average when compared to other music of the day. but nobody sells merchandise like gene. that guy knows marketing better than anyone.

well...that's not really saying much. i was a peter criss fan anyway.

saw the you tube video. my impressions... what?...are there 15 people in the band or was the stage that small? they are the current benchmark for hipster fashion. yippee...who gives a f*ck. so they dress better than tony bennett. and they rock harder too...but, does that really mean anything? this band is so over-hyped/fawned over, i really want to loathe them. but..the jury is still out, at least for me. right now, i'm not moved.

pfffffft.......

that's for nancy grace to figure out. we need to let the "experts" handle that one. i look forward to the day that bad haircut choices and fighting over the rotting corpse of a b-list celeb no longer is considered newsworthy. but i doubt that day will ever come.

well, i think the fact that half a dozen men have indicated they may be the father of anna's daughter is all the confirmation that you need. did they have to take a number? did anna have a waiting room?

not to say that a lot (most) of her troubles are self-inflicted, but i couldn't even imagine what it's like to be her right now and i kind of feel sorry for her (but mostly for her kids). she's fallen so far now, there's no hope for a full recovery and the media and photogs have pounced like vultures on roadkill. there's really nowhere to go. her poor kids sure as hell don't deserve this. if you've hit rock bottom and you still don't have a clue, there's no hope for you.
