Mart, I remember doing that, only I was in Paris in '84 and it was 8.75+ francs to the dollar. With a cuppa espresso costing about 4 francs, I spent money like a drunken sailor. My mom was back there over the summer with my three nieces and they couldn't get coffee/croissant for the four of them for less than $20, and often paid more. We are vacationing in the US this year, after scrapping plans to go to Ireland
