I loved the "neurotic space savers" after the break in Sat's show....
-
He does from time to time. And yeah, not his best work.
-
How are you guys decompressing? I'm not sure if I asked if you have plans to see them nearer to you on the current tour....I personally can't get enough, but work.... *sigh*

I had lost my voice the previous week, was just beginning to recover, then went to the Friday show and got bronchitis from standing in line and screaming my head off. Got meds on Monday and saw all 5 shows. Wouldn't have missed it for the world

Sam, I am with you on this. As nice as Millennium Park is, in comparison, the concert just felt flatter. Smaller GA venues FTW! Rob, thanks so much for your caring about everyone. The line was almost as good as the shows themselves, and that's saying a lot. Also, who has the warming circle pics??

I have EAC.... I usually just use it for ripping CDs into FLAC or V0 (big fat duh on my part). -

You know, I don't want to shit in anyone's punchbowl, but if there is going to be encoding of these files into MP3, they should be at least high quality MP3 (OiNK rules). 90kbps is really crappy. I would be happy to share my MP3s that I encoded to V0 (192kbps VBR) using DBPoweramp. But once you have them, they should stay digital. PM me. Tapers take a lot of time to get their recordings right, and if someone puts MP3s on a CD, gives them to a friend who then encodes to WAV/FLAC (or anything), then it is a transcode and this messes up the trading pool. -
Maybe on the record. Live, not so much.

I standing in line at the Riv right now.

It is definitely the flattest song on the record.

I'm with you, though not as wordy usually, so thanks for typing what I have been thinking

Yes. The drone is my new favorite But Dreamer was still a great way to close.

Will there be an official CD release of the Wilco Residency Nights?
Edie replied to engerling's topic in Just A Fan
It could have been recorded for a future radio broadcast, like King Biscuit Flour Hour (does that even exist anymore?) -
Watching Jeff hug John after "Simple" was just wonderful.
-
Yes they said they would play everything from a wilco studio album, and toss in some Mermaid and Bsides. He never said they would play ALL of them (wait until next year for that). Edit: yeah, what they said

I still haven't actually met you, to my knowledge.

They just keep taking it to another level. Just when I thought it was impossible for them to get better, they do. This tour will be very interesting, to say the least. It's like a whole new energy has been injected into the mix. Now you really will have no idea what they will play next, as it could be any of about 100 songs. I would be very surprised if they go "back" to the cadence of the other tours with the same 50 songs or so being mostly played. This last night was .... well, words fail me for the most part, but FIERCE is one that I kept repeating last night, and FEARLESS is another. It

OMFG... I wish I knew what song that was, though I was like that most of the night. People were telling me about them yesterday/last night, but I didn't think they were that, ahem, bad. Charles, I tried to call out to you several times to introduce myself but never had a chance to get your attention at the right time. I am a big fan of your work

You are correct -- I am with my friend Sara from Philly (to my left) and Tamala is blocked by Nels. She is right next to Kim....

This is true. Rob is a keeper! I have also met smoochy, whose name I could not recall until ction happened to mention her in the RTT. OSC unite!

Yes, and I still have my left * to prove it. Though Carlos, Viatroy, Analogman, Bjorn and Pookie are also not on my list

18 Shot at Northern Illinois U., DeKalb Campus
Edie replied to Twisted Acres's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I noticed that NIU and the police seemed to specifically not release many details about the killer in the immediate aftermath, hoping to have the media frenzy around it delayed a little bit. But two days later the local media was all over his story anyway. -

welcome and thanks for putting up with my sporadic jumping up and down. I have been a little more subdued so that I wouldn't pass out! I saw my first show in '04 just after Nels joined so I really never thought I would hear these songs; fucking ridiculous indeed. And another vote for the annual thing, though I am hoping for like... May or October! There was a small mike stand pointed towards the audience right in front of Nels; I see that Morgan saw one in front of her (closer to Pat). Also, am I counting wrong? I counted 33 songs twice.... Oh, and completely different yet totall
