  1. I'm still looking around the Keyboard Corner at the musicplayers.com forum, but maybe a few folks here can help too... Here's the goal: $500-1000 price range, something with decent acoustic piano and a B3-ish organ (bells and whistles like leslie sim, drawbars, etc... are nice but not required), weighted or semi-weighter keys preferred, at least 61 keys. Other cool voices are always nice, but sequencers, MIDI, or advances synthesizer stuff probably wouldn't get used much. FWIW, the people at the Keyboard Corner seem to like the Casio Priva series, but aside from a decent piano, I have no i

  4. I've played through (but have not owned) both the Marshall AS50R and Fender Acoustasonic and thought they were both fine. Then again, I'm not very picky with acoustic amps.
  5. I'm picturing a shot from the Sam Jones film where they're in the loft, and ther seem to be a ton of guitars laying around. Hundreds sounds like a lot though...
  6. Misunderstood is a great one D G D G D G G D Handshake Drugs is just D G F (the F might be a pain though) IATTBYH is easy with capo on 2: A [Em D] Box Full of Letters is a little more complicated, but the chord shapes are all easy (D A G Em - capo 2) and once you get it down it's a blast to play.
  7. I could probably hazzard a guess on the value of his pedals, but I couldn't even guess how much some of his vintage acoustics are worth.
  8. I think you should go to his house and ask. Give me a second, I'll post directions...
  9. well, it's out of print, but I dont know about the copyright status. Would just a few pages be considered "fair use"? I'm not sure. of course you could theoretically scan the book, upload it to yousendit.com as a zip file, and send a personal message to people who would like to get the files.
  10. It can be yours for a mere $3600 http://www.instrumentexchange.com/bid-form...&list_id=136348
  11. yup looks like he's playing a Dm/C?
  12. This is what I do - note this is not how Tweedy plays it. He plays it with a capo (I think capo 5) which may be a lot easier. I just got comfortable with this before I learned about the capo At Least That's What You Said Wilco Intro: Am G [Am]When I sat down on the bed next to you You started to [G]cry I said, [Am]maybe if I leave, you'll want me To come back [G]home [Am]Or maybe all you mean, is [G]leave me alone At [C]least that's what you [G]said [Am]You're irresistible when you get [G]mad [Am]Isn't it sad, I'm [G]immune [Am]I thought it was cute For you to kiss My [G]purple blac

  16. I've divided this into several sections - hopeully the organization will be obvious note: to make it sound like Nels, a lot of these notes should be done as swells with a volume pedal. Plenty of reverb also helps. There's also a lot of flexibility on whether to slide between two notes or not. note 2: I've tried to match the tab with the approriate chords - I might get some wrong, the tab on the net is pretty awful and not a great reference. Obviously if you're used to playing this capo 5 the chords will look different #1 Intro (over the Dm/Am chords - note this can also be used over th

  21. The main riffs are really similar. I always thought both songs emerged from the same proto-Wheel-KickingTV jam, though never had any real information that supported that. edit: Actually, you can throw Loose Fur's Street Success (right name?) in there too - almost exactly the same as the Kicking TV riff
  22. someone posted it here - try searching, and it if it doesnt come up, go to archives.viachicago.org and search there
  23. That's a good place to start for electric. Acoustic you may want a heavier brass slide, but there's a lot of personal preference involved.
