  1. I agree with Dalton. Of all the new Wilco songs, this one is, in my opinion, the worst! If it wasn't for the drum solo (unique to this song) I would think it was horrible. I'm not sure what direction they're headed with crap like this. Some of the other new tunes (Walken, Is that the Thanks I Get) are good but this one's not. I surely hope it grows on me.
  2. My girlfriend calls it "pointless noise." I guess she just doesn't understand Jeff's nuances. We saw Glen make a lot of this noise opening for Jeff during his fall '05 solo tour. I thought she was going to cover her ears. "Via Chicago" and "Misunderstood" have a good amount of p.n. but I dig it.
  3. Old Crow kicks ass! I saw them at the Newport Folk Festival, right before Wilco's set, 8/8/04.
  4. I know my life changed. My first show was in Portland, ME at the State Theatre, 8/6/04. I have seen them many times since, Jeff solo too. What a great experience to be front and center at your first show. Have fun Friday!
  5. Sounds good, man. I like hearing Wilco renditions. Thanks.
  6. Seems a little unrealistic that they'd play in Philly two days before their consecutive Chicago shows as well as the day before Thanksgiving, unless they do a little Northeast thing for a week or so.....maybe including NYC or even Boston. Perhaps I'm digging a little, maybe even a lot.
  7. That was the last time I saw Jeff or the band in that area, at Downtown Rising, great show too. I saw Wilco in Northampton to close the tour this past summer. I would LOVE to see a show booked in NYC this fall! Make it flippin' happen!
  8. I was at the show the next night in Northampton, MA. I got to meet Jeff after the show. Yaaaah. Right before he played "The Ruling Class" he announced how "last night I played this next song at a Christian college. They liked it." He goes on to sing about Jesus smoking crack. I'm pretty sure a few folks were caught off guard. I'm not a "Christian" and even I was a little surprised.
  9. Having Wilco in common is enough for me. You're right, it was very tough picking some of these. It's been on my mind, that's why I began the thread.
  10. I love the Autumn Defense records and you are entitled to your opnions as is everyone else. "A Shot in the Arm," to me, is boring. I do like the ending, indicating the desire to change, but the bulk of the song reminds me of someone on a bender. However, if I am "dead" to you, preach on brother!
  11. Lots of "It's Just that Simple" hatas too! I know it's kind or a crappy song but Mr. Stirratt has only contributed one song to a Wilco album (I think) so I decided not to knock it.
  12. ST: Summer Teeth/When You Wake Up Feeling Old Sweet, I love the song "Summerteeth."
  13. I think they prefer betamax.
  14. Please list both your favorite AND your least favorite Wilco songs by album. Favorite First. Please only go by the studio versions, how the songs sound on the albums. I'll start us off: Favorite Least Favorite AM- Box Full of Letters, Should've Been in Love Being There- Monday, (Was I) In Your Dreams Mermaid Ave I- At My Window Sad & Lonely, Christ For President Summerteeth- How To Fight Lone
  15. Lol. I just find that life is difficult enough without arguing about petty stuff. We have Wilco in common. That should be enough for us to get along.
  16. Nope, you win. I'm not arguing about this, I was simply making light of how serious people are here.
  17. Is it a huge deal to address this topic here? Flippin' forum enforcers.
  18. I heard Jeff's playing a solo show in Sandusky, Ohio on 11/29. Enjoy!
  19. You're welcome, kind sir. I think you should do either "Candyfloss" or "Less Than you Think" next.
  20. A quality trailer indeed. The folks over at Nonesuch do such a neat job.
  21. A fine effort indeed. You did miss a few lyrics but I give you an "A" for effort. I'm sure Jeff will be looking over his shoulder from now on.
  22. That was a very bizarre video! Wilco is WAY too cool for SNL. I'm off to do some madlibs.
  23. Sounds really good man! I like to sit and strum Jeff's tunes myself, however, I don't have harmonica skills like you.
  24. I love when you people argue like this. Can't you just respect each others' opinions? To me, "Is that the Thanks I Get" is more country than they've sounded in a while.
