Seconded. I would never pick Pieholden Suite or even Mountain Bed for one of my two choices off Summerteeth or Mermaid Ave. Your own conception is the best way to go. Take your time and listen to each album one at a time for a few days. Maybe in the order they were released. Again, it's all up to you, my friend. Welcome to Wilco world. Songs I would recommend (two from each album in chronological order): Casino Queen, Passenger Side, Monday, Someone Else's Song, At My Window Sad and Lonely, One by One, How to Fight Loneliness, Via Chicago, Airline to Heaven, Secret of the Sea, All of YHF, e

Tru 'nuf dog. Those blazin' stations feature stuff that all sounds the same to me. I do like older rap like A Tribe Called Quest, Snoop/Dre, even old Gangstarr. Basically nothing after '98. IOW, I don't like "hip hop."

Pearl Jam's take on "Love Reign O'er Me" is...

That trailer gives no indication of a 9/11 reference, so I also had no idea. Anyway, I love The Who and PJ sounds pretty good. At least Eddie Vedder (or Any Better as I call him on occasion) has some passion and energy in his vocals. The Who might be the most energetic band of all time. -

What movie? -
I was there too. Great show. That was the last full band performances of: Hesitating Beauty, Spiders and the rare Wishful Thinking (only played 20 times total including one Tweedy solo performance). Walken....where in MA are you from? I'm in Canton, CT.

Dude, you rule. I especially like the "lady" of an "unsavory nature" segment. Nice touch.

Again, they're good live but I wouldn't go see them as a main act unless it was right near where I lived and priced very well.

Which Wilco related albums has Jim O'Rourke mixed so far? I assume he did both Loose Fur albums?

That was brutally awful. I am now dumber for having seen it. A douche indeed!

Yeah, until you're hooked and it becomes your life's mission to get/stay high. I've seen addicts like that and their lives were extremely stressful most of the time.

Very original, dude.

Right, right. I totally spaced that it's on the YHF Engineer's Demos; I downloaded it recently and do not yet know it thoroughly. That's why Jeff, in the recording I have (don't know from which show) says, after they play it: "that's not really a new song, it's an old song that was on a 'B' side or something, we just started playing it." I wonder why they waited so long to debut it. Kinda weird.
-
Yes! It's kind of hard to imagine a studio version isn't it?
-
Out of sheer curiousity, how do you figure it's that old? I believe it debuted at a Jeff show 1-29-05 and full band 3-5-06.
-
Gross. They haven't played Spiders as a full band since 7/16 in Florence, MA. That show also featured the most recent full band versions of Far, Far Away, Hesitating Beauty and Wishful Thinking (which has been played only 20 times total)....what a killer show! Maybe they'll bust out one of these tonight.

After going through the October setlists, they seem to play the following songs regularly: Walken, Let's Not Get Carried Away, Impossible Germany, Is That the Thanks I Get and What Light (13 total, 3 in October). Next are the songs they've played only a few times: The Good Part ("Not really a new song" 11 times), Maybe the Sun Will Shine Today (8 times), On&On&On (4 times), Let's Fight (3 times, I saw it in Florence, MA 7-16-06), Be Patient With Me (Twice, in both of Jeff's recent solo shows) and now, the new song Shake it Off (debuted Wed. in Madison). All that being said, I'm wond

Man....I just checked and they do have some left....the very last row of the orchestra. If they weren't "sold out" for all this time I would have tried to make the trip. It is my new goal to see Wilco in the windy city. I have never been there; what a reason to go! They're surely tearin' it up as I write this.
-
I'm excited to hear "Shake it off." There should be a few more debuts (maybe tonight or tomorrow in Chicago) of new songs like they did in Madison....good times.

Thanks for the offer. The question is: should I get an oink membership? I've heard mixed things about it like people getting kicked off this board for sending links to it. Thanks a lot for the offer! The question is: should I get an oink membership? I read on here that people were booted from this board because of sending oink links. Maybe you guys could list some pros and cons.

That's something I would love to get my hands on. I can't recall ever seeing that collection anywhere.
-
It must then also be the same version as the YHF Engineer's Demos (which sounds a lot like the Moon version). Where in the Doc. is this version of "Kamera?"
-
Silly stuff! I gotta go with (among others): A Magazine Called Sunset Kamera Casino Queen Monday Summerteeth How to Fight Loneliness California Stars

My first show was 8-6-04, Portland, ME. I had a chance to go 6-24-03 but ended up being out of town. They were supposed to open for Sonic Youth, who didn't show up, so they played a much longer set than anticipated. I was also at the Pines Theater this July.....very good show. Nels was great. 2004-08-06 Wilco State Theatre Portland, ME 1. At Least That's What You Said 2. Company In My Back 3. Muzzle Of Bees 4. Hummingbird 5. Jesus, Etc. 6.
