Ya know Robert, some folks just don't understand. But, fortunately, some folks do. For instance, my girlfriend likes most of their stuff, especially the poppier stuff. She dislikes the "meaningless noise" e.g. the 'nothings' at Misunderstood's coda and the feedback midway through Via Chicago. My guess is that she wouldn't like Less Than You Think. I wouldn't know b/c I skip it when we listen to AGIB together. Different strokes, you dig?

At least not since 11-10-04. Eventually they just must play it again, along with Kamera, Spiders....any others you folks been jonesin' for? I heard they've only played Heavy Metal Drummer like 3 times, then I heard something different.

My vote is for: "I am an American Aquarium Drinker, I assassin down the avenue" (and basically all the lyrics to IATTBYH)

Hi Walken, my fellow New Englander. I saw the AD show Monday in NYC. It was wonderful. Pat said that Jeff "might" check out our humble message board. It would be cool to read what your fans write about you. I can't wait until Wilco comes back to the NE. As Walken knows (I think he was there), that Pines Theater show (7/16/06) kicked ass! It was the last full band versions of: Spiders, Hesitating Beauty, Wishful Thinking AND, Far, Far Away. Neato gang. Super dooper.

An even more curious inquiry: Does anyone know the definition of "an American Aquarium Drinker"?

I don't think anybody could puke more than that kid. I think I saw a boot come out of him.

Touche! Kickass version. To my knowledge there are no demos of the named song. It makes me a little sad too but in return we get "Corduroy Cutoff Girl" and "Cars Can't Escape" which both turn my frown upside down. turns to Rumor has it that Jeff (and Jay Bennett) wrote Jesus, etc. at the end of the YHF sessions and thus it is not on either of the demo collections. There are, however, many, many fine live versions. IMO, the best ones are experienced in person.

Seconded. This guy tries way too hard to be cool/smart. "A shuttle between

It kind of reminds me of the song Adam Sandler performs for Drew Barrymore in "The Wedding Singer," you know, the one where he sings "....Oh somebody kill me please, I'm on my knees, pretty pretty please, kill meeeeee, I want to die, put a bullet in my heeaaaeeeaaaaaddd."

Wanna hear a fun story?? OK. One week ago today, I was in AZ for the first time ever. As we were about to pull into the Day's Inn Flagstaff, Being There Disc 1 happened to be at the end. I got the chills and a big smile when I heard, "Hotel, in Arizona...." It was a very cool moment. Plus, I was in a rental car (no tinted windows) to boot.

They also played Union College 4/27/02. They probably won't play there this fall. If they do, I'm there. I also hope they play Newport. I was there in 8/04 and saw them play directly following Old Crow Medicine Show. Awesome weather, great day. I sure hope they return.

Hands down.

Yes......They better!

Worst thread ever.

I enjoy pretty much all of the new album. It's very mellow and mature as folks here have said. It's very easy to listen to. I won't over-do it though. I'm sure the actual album will sound much crisper than the rips do and look forward to 5/15.

I like how on 3/12/01 he closed the show with "Monkey Mess" after playing Cali. Stars. That must have been interesting.

What's up with this? They're playing the Kongsberg Jazz Festival in Norway? I'm very grateful that they're doing the Australia shows for all our fellow VCers Down Under.....even think it's cool that they're opening their summer tour in Europe. But to go back there after Bonnaroo?? I suppose they might play some North American dates at the end of June/early July. My guess is after all this, they won't do an extensive U.S. tour. I know I'm venting but I've only seen the whole band once (Florence, MA 7/16/06, kickass show!) since 10/04. We American folk will not see "You are my Face," "Hate it

Hi all. I have been in Phoenix since last Wednesday. I missed the streaming of SBS. Is there a way to access the studio versions of the songs? It sounds like many folks on here have the new tracks downloaded. I would like to hear them. I have live versions of all the tracks except: You are My Face, Hate it Here and Leave Me (Like you Found Me) obviously b/c they have not yet been played live. I have Jeff solo versions of Sky Blue Sky and Please Be Patient with Me. Thanks and I hope you're all diggin' the new record so far.

Y'all who went are very very lucky.

Great show.....the last full band versions of: Hesitating Beauty, Spiders, Wishful Thinking and Far, Far Away. Pretty sweet to see all 4 of those for the most recent time. Also only one of three times they played Let's Fight. Great venue too and only 90 minutes from the crib. Hope they return. Sure grateful for this gem! Who cares what audio format it's in, this show is a terrific one for collectors.

Walken, please tell us how you really feel. You're making us New Englanders look rude. Pines Theater 7/16/06 =

I'm sure MMJ will be there. They are Bonnaroo.

Wednesday night, at Chili's Grill and Bar, I heard "Nothing'severgonnastandinmyway(again)." I was all like, "sweet!" It was quite an inspiration. I felt as if my path was clear.
