  1. I like Gainesville. My uncle and his kids live there. I always wanted to go to UF.
  2. Christian Science Monitor article: How Bloggers Worked The Boston 'Bomb Hoax' http://www.csmonitor.com/2007/0202/p02s01-ussc.html Slate article Bloggers on the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Debacle http://www.slate.com/id/2158945/fr/rss/
  3. I just rented Streetcar Named Desire and On The Waterfront - Excellent! And next will be Midnight Cowboy! Quite a jump, eh?
  4. Ha, that would be an even better marketing ploy!
  5. 1) It's especially interesting to put this into social context, not only in the sense that this is probably a human disorder (not 21st century human), but in the sense that this is a wife/mother who is apparently leading an otherwise normal life. I wonder what her job is? HR consultant? Starbucks clerk? Nurse? Customer Service Rep? 2) It's so strange to hear this in a very straightforward, well-written manner. The way it's written, this article could be about gardening. I wonder what kinds of things would shock this person? I wonder how she'd feel about someone who has horns surgically i
  6. They really should've given the media more material to work with, though. I mean, you can only go so far with 70s hairstyles. And nobody even mentioned the jheri curl. Edit: Never mind. According to wikipedia, jheri curl is early 80s.
  7. I was visiting a friend last weekend. She mentioned that she'd recently read a disturbing PostSecret confession by someone who wished to be an amputee. I'd never heard of BIID before, and find it pretty disturbing. I can't believe that there are people who would wish for this, especially considering that some people suffer and cry at night because they've lost a limb. Think: writer Andre Dubus who was maimed while trying to rescue people from a highway accident. Apparently, people pray for that kind of thing. Oddly enough, this article showed up on the Guardian on Monday. It describes someo
  8. Yeah. I used to be a big fan and I guess I'll probably rent the movie sometime, but the show really kinda stinks these days.
  9. I'd probably pay $100 for one, no more. Figure, they'll probably go down in value, as ATHF fades into obscurity. The show isn't even that good anymore anyway (but the first season was excellent).
  10. Do you accept PayPal, pally? And...how about if you lower the price to $25.
  11. It would be cool to own one. But not for $500.
  12. Well, ATHF sure got some publicity out it. It will just wind up being really, really expensive publicity. Maybe Turner will fight the fees and make the taxpayers pay for it, thus making people more reluctant to report possible threats? Hooo boy. Yes. This is the most unconscionable, worst stunt imaginable. More appalling, even, than a giant hardcore porno billboard. The cops/mayor/others are just trying to save face now.
  13. I agree about Turner being jackasses. They should be forced to pay fines and any legal fees to defend the people they paid to do this. On the other hand, though, I think that the "terrorists have won" here. There is a Terror War at hand- and it is aimed both at fighting terrorism, but also ensuring that Americans are scared enough to continue to support it.
  14. I'm pretty sure that an even weirder conclusion, though, would be "that is probably a bomb." The thing is like 1/2" thick. Not much room for explosives, there. Also, since when do terrorists decorate their WMDs with pieces of flair?
  15. This is the Terror War, people, everything is a potential WMD!!!
  16. Somehow I knew you'd be quoting my post.
  17. Brent's newest film is also called Paulina Hollers.
  18. That's really sad. She will be missed. She was a good liberal. Rest in peace, Molly.
  19. Wow. This may be the best solo show I've ever heard. Let's hope he can pull off Chinese Apple without making a mistake.
  20. I will personally make sure that you get a copy. Of the show, that is.
