Maybe I'll try to convince Tim to make some Califone-brand work attire, so that I can make daily Califone garb a reality.
-
Well, you may have more copies of "Roots & Crowns," but I bet I have more Califone t-shirts than you. (Got a box of 50 in the mail yesterday.)
-
I don't have any details about the tour after Europe...at all. But "someone" did tell that that Wilco was trying to get Califone to open their shows in the spring.

It works fine at 45rpm. Thanks! As for the hi-gram thing, I just said that because it seems like when record companies spread an normally 1LP album over 2LPs, it's usually on hi-gram vinyl. In this case, I was thinking that the slowness at 33rpm was because they spread a normally 1LP album over 2LPs but didn't change the weight. Something, anyway.

I've only listened to about 10%, so I actually don't know. My initial thoughts were kind of similar to yours, but I've been waiting to try it on the turntable.
-
No, I know that ain't right. I tried all of the various RPMs and checked the whole range of pitches, and nothing sounded like the CD. But I'll try 45 again and see what happens.
-
It's not anywhere...anywhere! Not even the Internets or on Insound where I bought it. Thanks, Sam! 45 didn't quite seem right, but I'll give that another shot.

The turntable is direct drive and other records play fine.

Anyone have the Grizzly Bear "Yellow House" limited edition double-lp? The thing doesn't play at the right speed. It's not on high gram vinyl or anything. Am I doing something wrong?

Got this email today: Just thought you would like to know that Pat got a new kidney on Saturday January 13th. No one expected him to get a cadaver kidney so soon, however the match was so good he was moved to the top of the list. He is recovering at home and everything looks great. Thank you again for your support. Jane (Pat's Mom)

I used to have it, but I guess I deleted it.

Thanks, Louie!

World Without Tears is a pretty damn good album. It's downbeat and dark, and there are a few clunkers, but there are still some really powerful songs on there. The Car Wheels release is ok. It's mostly good for the live set on Disc 2; there are a coulpe of additional tracks on Disc 1, but nothing special. The Car Wheels original versions are not better than the real thing, IMO.

Really not a poster to put on the wall. Somehow, I doubt it. Makes me wonder if Wilco even made the drone at all, of if it's an O'Rourke creation only? He seems perfectly capable of making it himself, anyway.

The Brown show.
-
Hahaha I definitely understand that. I'll stick to mailordering his stuff.

Too bad that Providence show had such awful sound that totally made a mockery of Ted Leo's awesomeness.

http://www.owlandbear.com/2006/09/15/class...ary-4-2000-m4a/ The explanation may be at the end of Casino Queen or the beginning of Pecan Pie. I don't remember.

At least they both had something to do with Grizzly, I guess.
-
I'd like to get one for vocals someday too.

Guess I'll put this in the correct thread... It's not a jewel in my vinyl crown, but I recently picked up Grizzly Bear's Yellow House limited (to 1000) LP, and it has a free copy of the CD in it. Pretty cool.

It's fun to mess around with the knobs while a long delay is happening. You can do some fun stuff.

Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, WWII vet/U.S. Marine Buchwald decided against dialysis a while back, but instead of dying, he just kept on living- and writing. From Wikipedia: Click here for the obituary at CNN.

Nah, I'm not saying that they (Rush, etc.) won't pounce on his name, or that those assholes won't be effective. At face value, though, right now, I don't think it matters to most Americans.
