This is true. It remains, however, the Democrats' predictable weakness- not only when they're challenged by a huge force like the united Republicans (as we've seen in recent past), but also when they actually have the power (like now). Sigh. It really is too bad that the Republicans want to destroy America. Otherwise, their unity would be admirable.

It still amazes me how the Dems, even when they're in power, manage to create divisions among themselves- unlike the Republicans who somehow always remain largely a solid force.

I like O'Rourke too. I'm actually listening to "Insignificance" on my old (somewhat new) turntable right now. It's definitely an overlooked gem, dare I say, a masterpiece. Do you happen to have any live O'Rourke (other than Loose Fur)? "I'd take your name if I thought it'd do me good. If it's all the same to you, I'll just take a look under your hood."

In this news article on Yahoo.com about O'Reilly and Colbert's appointments on each others' shows, the author writes: I can't even begin to say how much I dislike Bill O'Reilly, but still- since when do news articles contain ellipses, words like "um," and veiled sarcasm? What kind of reporting is that? It's not in the opinion section, it's not a blog, and it doesn't have a byline. Is it supposed to be not only a jab at O'Reilly, but also an ironic twist because it's obviously great evidence for O'Reilly to point out "liberal bias" in the media? Dear god!

Is allowing life to get more cumbersome for a severely disabled person is any more right or wrong than having the surgery? If the disabled person doesn't know the difference, does it matter? (Just askin')

Absolutely. That's so weird that they made everyone sit down. I think that Tim gets weirded out by excessively passive listeners. At the World Cafe Show (where they also served dinner and had tables, even) there was a weird vibe too, and he said that he could hear people crunching their food. (Personally, I don't think it was loud enough, but hey.) Anyway- Jill and I will be in Chicago in two days! Wheeee!!!!
