I wish the North Star wasn't such a shitty venue w/ asshole staff. I'd go more often.

Recorded this a few years ago. Sluggishly working on a new one. http://download.loperco.com/133/

Thanks! I'm pretty excited about all this. Hopefully, we'll find a good place to stand.

Thanks! Now I just have to contend with God, with his damn sleet and snow.

Big fan of a lot of their stuff.

I think that they meant "country-friend skunk."

Dear jerk, why must you undermine the troops with your sarcasm? Everybody knows that the best way to support the troops is with a yellow magnetized ribbon stuck to the bumper of your car, or a sticker that says "Freedom isn't free."

I'm pretty much okay with this new album. I think it might be better than AGIB, which I liked, though maybe they could've been combined to make one really sweet album minus a few tracks from both. I want to hear a high quality version.

Walked out on Drive By Truckers - Bobby Bare, Jr. totally overshadowed them as opener. Plus, at 26, I think I was one of the youngest people in the room (other than band members). I even saw some of my high school friends' parents there, smoking and drinking hard. It was depressing. Plus, the show started two hours late and I wanted to go to bed.

But aren't you glad it's not another of 975 new threads about Sky Blue Sky?

Note: I am not posting this for any kind of personal gain, or because I know anyone in this charity, or because I knew about this charity before today. I saw this today on the Christian Science Monitor website, and thought I'd post it here. It seems like a worthy cause. Those rangers go through a lot just to protect these gorillas. If you donate to the site, you can give them a reason to continue the fight against violent poachers and help to help protect the rangers' families. I sent $50 their way this morning. I have one of these: Ibanez Artcore It's inexpensive, and probably not too easy to modify, but it's solid, pretty, and I like it a lot.

I watched Kaspar Hauser last night. It was a pretty cool film, and very funny at times. It was also really interesting to see Hauser, an adult child, make observations as he proceeded in his learnings. Not a fast-paced thriller by any stretch of the imagination, but worth a watch for anyone remotely interested in humanity/cognition/philosophy, etc.

YHF, AGIB, and probably soon to be SBS
-
The one that I like the least is Impossible Germany. That said, it all sounds pretty good. I'm looking forward to hearing a higher-quality version of SBS, so that I can fully assess it and decide whether to buy it. Until then, I won't be listening to it again.

Yeah, I checked under my bed too, but all I found were some Communists.

The Wilcoworld email did say "Much, much more to come," and it sounds possible, so you never know. That said, this new song sounds pretty good!

Califone - Roots & Crowns

Weirdly enough, that's been my computer's desktop background ever since it won that photography prize about a year ago.

I wanted to go to that Harrisburg show, but it sold out in about 30 minutes.
