What an experience - to be able to see and hear McCartney in such an intimate setting! Soak it all in - you have had a one in a lifetime experience... congrats doesn't cover it.

I picked up this re-release, mostly for the DVD. It's short, but very nice to see the recording sessions for the 1st album. Lots of comments about Bob's two songs, and a segment on Roy. Most of it is home video stuff. The MTV videos from the 1st album look great to see again. I'm not a big fan of "Wilbury Twist" from Vol. 3, but the DVD has a new version that replaces most, but not all of the cameos from 1990. No more Milli Vanilli! Eric Idle and John Candy are still there in the beginning. I'm pretty sure YouTube has the original video. New video is on Amazon... I haven't listen

I'm currently reading Geoff Emerick's book and recommend it. With so many Beatle books, it's hard to name just one. Kind of depends what aspect of the Beatles you want to read about. I have a rather large Beatle library, going back to mid-70s books. There is an old one I like named "Apple To The Core", written by a hippie teenager who was working at Apple. The Beatles Anthology book is good for an overview, in their own words (lots of this comes from the video series interviews) The paperback version isn't as expensive as the hard cover... I have that "It Was 20 Years Ago Today" special on VHS; taped it off of WTTW back in 87. Before the Beatles Anthology series, this was essential viewing for a Beatles fan. The interviews with George, Paul, Ringo, and George Martin are all very interesting for that time. I haven't watched it in a very long time, but I think they show a clip of Hendrix playing "Sgt. I seem to remember that poster was sold out the night of the 11/24/06 show, so I bought it on Wilcoworld a week or so later. Then, I was very lucky enough to have Jeff sign it at the Barrington living room show in February. Must get that framed.... it's a fantastic poster.

November 1, 2005 Auditorium Theatre Chicago A Benefit for Hurricane Relief. Front row. I was one of the WXRT front row auction winners (Aimee talked me into bidding). I was just getting into Wilco and playing bass in the Wilco ensemble at the Old Town School. A bunch of new friends from the Ensemble all went that night, and were scattered throughout the theatre.
