You should make this a poll; then you will have tangible evidence of the exisiting support or lack thereof for your suggestion previously stated in the initial post of this here darn thread. I will vote in the affirmative if such a course of action is undertaken.

I received my Rolling Stone in the mail yesterday. Couple of good pictures (Jeff laying on a couch with guitar in hand next to Pat; Nels recording lap steel parts). After the quote in question (My Counry Has Disappeared being about hope and optimism after 8 years of feeling awful), he goes on to say that the song is about the same things he has always written about, specifically America and mortality. He also compares Wilco, The Song to an infommercial.

I like this!

Before the Flood is one of my faves. Slow Train Coming is good, too.

The Tweezer idea was kind of close, too. They played it first night, second set, third song, and closed the last night with the reprise.

I think it's season 7.

In case you haven't heard the song it is not overtly political at all. Would you want to hear Tweedy's takes on Jesus Etc. or She's A Jar? I haven't heard him talk about them, but who knows where he is coming from. Like you stated, there are many different interpretations. What if you had never heard this paraphrasing of a quote? I hope my Rolling Stone finally came today so that I can read this for myself because I seriously doubt it's that political. I think whatever side of the political discussion you're on, the feeling that certain American values have been lost over the past 8 years i

There was a music video for Kicking Television (the song). There was a CD single for Hotel Arizona. Depends what you mean by single. They have also put out promo cd's. http://www.discogs.com/artist/Wilco

I went Misunderstood. There's way too many variables with Sunken Treasure (what version are we talking about here?).

I like My Country Has Disappeared and never thought of it as political.

I haven't seen this yet. I hope it's good. I have my doubts, though. I saw him when he MC'd Spitzer's inauguration party. Occassionally a band would be a little delayed in getting started and they would throw him out there to fill the time. He looked both terrified and like a fish out of water doing that stuff. Seemed like he can't do anything on the fly. Could have just been that this was an arena. Maybe he's more comfortable in the studio.

Just started 2nd set. New song is a step in the right direction after the last couple albums but not mind-blowing. Beginning a 12:50 Tweezer....

That could be funny. The concept is celebrities like musicians and athletes give marriage counseling to people. If they get the most retarded egotistical celebrities it could be pretty funny.

Listening now. Tight like prom night.

I marked AGIB, but I've been listening to the AGIB bonus material the most. The live version of ALTWYS and Panthers.

^^^^^^ Well said. I use a lot of exclamation points for some reason. I meant to be more excited sounding than yelling. The lyrics/chords forum is actually what got me into VC. It's the best resource for Wilco tabs, bar none. Have fun and I really need to learn this tune, too.

They are f'ing awesome. They put on a great live show. Their album was one of the best of 2007 (I'm that cool; this is the bon iver argument that never happened). And they're way too younger than me to be doing this shit!

You're obviously not hip and ironic

Holy fuck. This is what this season needed. Can't wait to see this. Probably my two favorite shows of all time.

I was gonna go no spoilers but I can't resist the twitter. Is there anything else better out there going on online right now? Where's the party, man?
