Off the top of my head, some of Trey Anastasio's influences: Genesis, Grateful Dead/Jerry Garcia, Kevin Shields/MBV, Robert Fripp/King Crimson, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Duke Ellington, Duane Allman/Allman Brothers, Johann Sebastian Bach, Kurt Cobain/Nirvana, Pavement, King Sunny Ade. The list goes on and on, but those are the ones I think of and remember him talking about specifically.

Yeah, that was him. To people who have downloaded the shows or know more about this than I do: Is the song Jeff and Glenn are playing during the trailer a song written for 7 Worlds Collide? I'm assuming it is but secretly hoping it's a new Wilco song because it's kind of punky and good.

Let's hope Live Phish is better to set up high volume traffic than Live Nation

Is there a leak? I haven't heard the version that is going to be on the album yet. The Colbert and Feinberg versions were fun. I'm interested to see how this comes out.

My thought about this is that when depressed, the depression becomes primary, the art becomes secondary. The art is the therapy for the depression and powerful emotions create powerful art. If you're feeling down it may be a good time to write music, if that's what you need. I would just do whatever makes you feel better. I don't think anyone who has made good art because they were depressed would recommend being depressed for the sake of the art.

Just noticed on ticketmaster that some places are having presales today and tomorrow. My location goes on sale in a half hour. (St. Petersburg, Boston, and Baltimore I know go on sale at noon today)

They were fishing. They probably should have turned back sooner but who knows why not. They may have been trying to wait the waves out (they were pretty far out & anchored) or just didn't know what they were doing. This is new and weird:

What did y'all think about last night's "Magnificent." Maybe it's just the song, but I didn't like it as much as the night before. The Edge was awesome though. I liked Dave's comment to Adam about how he could feel the bass in his chest.

Just got a chance to see last night's letterman performance of breathe. I'm not even a big U2 fan and that blew my mind. That was awesome.

I read somewhere yesterday that Samuel L. Jackson and Marvel have come to terms for him to play Nick Fury for his entire life. Still not psyched about Don Cheadle replacing Terrence Howard in Iron Man 2.

The USCG search will be suspended at 6:30pm. 2 hours to pray guys. This is so sad on every angle. What it must feel like to be stuck at sea and what it must be like to not know if you'll see your loved one again.

I'm more of a live recording guy anyway, so these live tracks I've all heard, and usually in the context of the show. But for album tracks, I don't do the leak; I wait to buy the album. At least with Wilco.

Is that Spencer who throws the soccer ball at Jeff? I keep replaying that over and over. His reaction is priceless. Yacht Rock!
