  1. sounds like that dude stole the moral of an old celtic folk tale called "The Field of Boliauns" where clever tom captures a leprechaun and when the wise ass lep shows him where his gold is buried, tom has no shovel. well blah blah blah fuckity ending with "and from that time on, I never go anywhere without my shovel."
  2. Does having Toxic Reasons play in my friends living room in Dayton when we were in college count? (I didn't think so.)
  3. Lammy, you just reminded me about the only autograph I ever got. Bought Ice Cream at the same time as Dennis Miller at a little kiosk thing outside a new comedy club in the seaport place in Pittsburgh. I don't remember any of the names of anything, not even that seaport mallish place. I only lived there a few years, like 20 years ago. I think I still have the autograph though. It said: "I'm outta here! Dennis Miller"
  4. Well, compared to PigSooie, my "I pee'd next to George Wendt in some bar in Chicago in early July, 1992." story sounds pretty blas
  5. Happy Birthday to the real Birthday folks!! And to Ms Fickerson: Welcome to the East Coast!!! Have a Great Brooklyn Birthday with this little wake up link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RI2IyHXJo5M
  6. I don't know anything about the subject, but that reveiwer didn't seem to say anything about Ryan Adams ripping off anyone. He really seems to love the record. p.s. I know everyone has been making fun of you because of your "posting style" as you call it. It doesn't really bother me, but it does take me longer to read them than other people's posts. Every time time you take a period break, when I read it, I hear someone using an inhaler. So it's like, "wow, tons of maturity on here" (((whoooosh))) " turns more into personal attacks" (((whoooosh)))..... I don't know why, it just does.
  7. I don't think anybody was trying to edit how they are seen by the community. Actually, I think only edie said she thought the order was off and that I think that is generational. I am the same age as her and in college and the immediate years thereafter, (college from 1980 to 84) coke was looked at something rich yuppies did and was looked at as no big deal. It was a social drug. Doing acid and mushrooms and the like was a HUGE deal that only real drug addicts did. It wasn't until later, into the early nineties that it was looked at as what it is which is a real addictive drug. I'm pleased
  8. gogo is the awesomest! I heard that was A-man
  9. I was under the impression that the drug problem in our country has grown over the last 10-20 years so I'm finding it pretty interesting that across a broad cross section of people here, everyone has been very conservative in their drug use compared to say, the late 80's. I can't/wouldn't/shouldn't say how many times I have done most of that list up there and so had almost everyone I know from back in the olden days but this was 20 years ago. Now I'm not as afraid of my kids getting older as I once was.
  10. does smoking coke in sort of a freebase, turned to a liquid, dried, scraped up and smoked fall under coke or crack? does anybody know if the stuff we called "go fast" in the 80's that burned like snorting sea salt was closer to meth or coke? edit: edie answered question #1 for me!
  11. She is Mrs. Eyeball's #1 favorite artist of all time. I have learned to live with it, and agree with Solace on a string of 3 or 4 records, starting with her 2nd, being pretty great. (she had one before little earthquakes that was pretty awful)
