Maybe this has been covered somewhere else, but what does the "limited view" mean? I thought those were going to be lawn seats....but I got my tickets in the mail and they are definitely in the pavilion.

Icky Thump - New White Stripes album
foolnrain97 replied to Welsh Rich's topic in Someone Else's Song
Werd. I'm a huge fan of catch hell blues and I'm doing everything I can to not wear it out too fast. Does anyone know if the dates that are on their website are the last dates, or are they maybe going to announce a few more? I'd like them to do more in the midwest for this album, as it's looking like I won't make it out to Austin to see them.... -
thanks MB.

A friend introduced me to them earlier this year(Battles) and I really dig them. The drummer used to play for Helmet? That's about all I know about them, but I imagine they'd be great to see live based on that youtube thing.

yes, yes it would be. I agree. Does anyone know if John Cusack is the narrator of the wedding one?

I took two years of music theory and a year each of music and art history. Aside from a couple of my gen ed requirements, I cannot think of classes that I have disliked more. As someone who enjoys these things, for me, there was no better way to spoil them. The whole time I was learning chords, progressions, modulations, exceptions to every rule there is, dates, places, names, etc, I couldn't stop thinking, why can't I just enjoy this? Why can't I just listen to this and enjoy it for what it is? Why can't I just look at this and love it or hate it? Why do I have to know what makes it "go

Top Ten Things To Send To College With My Daughter
foolnrain97 replied to trestle's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
Add to my list, under the bed storage containers and whatever it takes to make the dorm room feel a little more like home-more pillows on the bed, posters, stuffed animals, christmas lights, whatever. It'll make those first couple of nights/weeks/months a little better. -

I would recommend NOT taking every book/CD/movie she owns. They can take up a lot of space and chances are they'll sit there on the shelf. So pick a few favorites of each or whatever. The library will have some of those things or she can borrow movies and such from her dorm mates.... If she likes tea, but not coffee, then one of those hot water makers might be better than a coffee pot. Small blender for smoothies? The looking for books online thing is a very good idea, amazon and half.com are two other sites that are pretty good for that. I also had the individual detergent packages f -
It used to be better. They changed the format a couple years ago.

1. I think that this man lies at the root of many of America's social problems. Also, I do not find him to be humorous at all. 2. I have a story about the wii shirt, but no one would believe it. -
Yes. AND They have tots. TOTS!@$ Freaking awesome tots that you can ask for with cheese and/or chilli.

DQ Brazier?I think they have onion rings. Besides, there's no Friendly's in central Ohio anymore. The last one I knew of became a Starbucks a few years back.....

Ugh. Are we STILL talking about this?

hey everyone! What a great show. I really liked the way they did spiders... anyways, it was great to finally meet some people from VC...MChris(and sarah), J4(and wife), Mountain Bed, E Sue, Wendy, Leo, Viatracy. I think I might have been more excited about seeing you guys than Wilco, though it's hard to say. Hope you all enjoyed it and made it home safely! I had three (live Wilco)first-timers with me and they all enjoyed the show a lot, so that was good.

Hope it's a good one.

Snicker. P.S. I have made something out of clay and you are the inspiration! It is not finished, but will be soon. I will keep you posted. I like the parking once thing too, so my vote has now changed to the same a MChris'. Rockbottom or Nicholson's.
-
My vote is for rock bottom or hofbrauhaus, but that's just because I do enjoy microbrews.....MChris, these are both okay for the youngsters? If not, redfish is quite alright with me as well.(I have nothing agains the Scots, it just seems the least appealing to me and their website is hard to navigate.)

I just watched his segment yesterday on the Modern Drummer Festival DVD from this past year. What you have said is exactly how he thinks about his playing. His teacher at UK(James Campbell?) really pushes his students to look at percussion as a whole entity, not just different facets(i.e. keyboards, timpani, multiple, drumset, snare drum, etc.). That's why Glenn's playing is so musical, because he doesn't look at the drumset as a drumset, he looks at it as an instrument with infinite possiblities. This is also evident in how he chooses various percussive instruments to play that aren't tra
