If my senior recital weren't on the 29th, I'd be there in a heartbeat....

I would just like to point out that I did not spoil this for everyone! It was napolean(go figure).

oops, day late or so, but happy birthday! -
what magazines, newspapers do you subscribe to?
foolnrain97 replied to Atticus's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
I get this too. I also get CMJ, but I've grown tired of this one. I was a subscriber to Architectural Digest for two years, which was pretty cool. I'm thinking about picking a diff music mag and an art one too(probably art forum). I'm also thinking about doing the whole Mcsweeney's thing, but it seems expensive. I think my favorite subscription of all time was Ranger Rick when I was a kid. It was pretty sweet. -

Not the Goose Island brewery thread I was hoping for. -

save one record? Well, it'd either be Classic's reissue of Kind of Blue or AGIB. I think. I kind of forget sometimes what all I have on vinyl.

I barely made it past the one minute mark before I had to close the window. That's not Caruso's fault. Blame the writers if you must blame.

Who would you like to see open for Wilco?
foolnrain97 replied to DogsPlayingPoker's topic in Just A Fan
Did someone already say Van Morrison? That'd be super sweet. -
Alright, look, I didn't want to have to do this, but I just can't keep quiet any longer. Some of these drummers you've probably heard of, and some you probably haven't. Either way, these are some fantastic solos. Glenn is derfinitely one of my favorites and no doubt seeing him play "Monkey Chant" live was one of the best moments in my life(he's also a super nice fellow). For all interested, here you go. Chad Sexton(311) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IZqeF7Ykxv8...ted&search= Chad Smith(RHCP) John Bonham(Zeppelin-moby dick) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L47lv3QTkbo John Blackwell(

My roommate is a member of somethingawful and I am happy to report that Jeff's last post was made on OCT. 25, 2006.

best ever? probably not, depends on personal taste, but there are a few that are pretty standard when talking about best ever(roach, rich and bonham, and moon come to mind). Biggest kit (BTW) probably Neil Peart, not Carter. Now about Glenn. The difference between his solo work and his drumming on wilco albums/live shows is astounding. Don't get me wrong, his wilco drumming is great, and fits the songs wonderfully. It is a good display of how a drummer/percussionist can play melodically in a rock setting and on a non-melodic instrument. However, I think his solo work is a better demons

When reading about best studio double? I instantly thought of Melon Collie. London Calling and Physical Graffiti are great ones too. This looks like it could be a great one too.(careful, not work safe.)

seconded. I hope everything goes smoothly.

Yeah, there are. They're for the computer and I can't access them yet because they've blocked it until the official release date. "Thanks for purchasing the DVD. The bonus material will be posted shortly. It will include free downloads of 24 songs recorded during filming all in high-quality 256 kbps unrestricted MP3 format."

yes and no, because said incident didn't happen on the northwest coast. Duh!

One step ahead of ya! I don't want to ruin anything for anyone, but's let's just say there's a few surprises.....

in this one post, you have managed to use more unpleasant words than I have seen on VC as a whole since joining. If anyone's making this unpleasant/uncomfortable, it's you. And about Wilco, I don't know....if people keep jumping on stage at shows and they keep swinging, Jeff and the boys might just gain some notoriety.... I don't think Wilco is really searching for superstardom, because if they were, they probably would have already succeeded or this community wouldn't even exist because they would have failed. It seems to me like this is a band that's actually in it for the music. I li

oh man, if I could, you guys would be getting baked goods through the PM all the time! Pics, well, I'll have to borrow someone's digi cam and take some this week, but that shouldn't be a big deal. Think along the lines of a Bouche de Noel except it's a pumpkin cake with vanilla or cream cheese icing on the inside....
