  1. Yes - we should meet up in Indy! Happy Birthday!
  2. Drew, I will give this a listen as time allows. Question - do you play around Dayton? Canal Street Tavern? It would be nice to catch you if I happen to be in the area (I have good friends there).
  3. 5/11/78 Civic Center Arena Springfield, MA I: Cold Rain, BIODTL, FOTD, L.L. Rain, Loser, Mexicali > Mama Tried, T. Jed, Minglewood, Peggy-O, Lazy Lightning > Supplication II: Scarlet > Fire, Dancin' > Drums > NFA > Stella Blue, Around E: Werewolves, J.B. Goode 30 years ago today. Crazy second set - the rumor is that the band ingested some good mescaline at this show. Listening to the wild vocals in Dancin', and especially Werewolves it sounds like more than just a rumor to me. Available as Dick's Picks #25
  4. EDIT: I forgot to tell you that I hate you.
  5. NELS!!! Great show, Rosie and Lou. I really enjoyed it. Now, off to do some mowin'.
  6. "Liberace on tenor, Garner Ted Armstrong on vocals"
  7. Man, I hope we get some avant-screechin' before the jazz leaves us.
  8. Louie and Rosie all over the world! Charles Christopher Parker
  9. That's it. It's just unfair for those who cannot participate (for the reasons you listed).
  10. These guys were a staple on the great, great early '80s L.A. show New Wave Theatre. I taped some of this stuff on VHS back in the day - I have them doing "NY's Alright.." among other things. But the interview segments (with host Peter Ivers) are just nuts. Example: Ivers: do you have a life philosophy? Ving: yes, my philosophy is 'stay gay all the way'. Ivers: well, it looks like you've succeeded. Ivers: does God exist? Ving : yes, God exists...but he's gay. and he's living in a Chrysler on Santa Monica Boulevard. Great stuff.
  11. Dammit, this is exactly what I was talking about a few posts back - taking the low road as opposed to cranking up some shit for W and his ilk. Shameful.
  12. May many fine craft beers be on your agenda today! Have a great birfday!
  13. String Cheese Incident - 5/5/00 Saenger Theatre, New Orleans, LA SBD I: Land's End > Jam > Search, Cottonmouth, Birdland*, Sweet Melinda > Shine II: Rivertrance > Roll Over > Lost**, Drifting Away, Restless Wind, Outside Inside > Jam > Roll Over E: Bend Down Low > Texas * with Bela and the Flecktones ** With Karl Denson One of their very best.
  14. JT is well known for throwing the curve balls at us. I'd love to see a 50 minute disc with one song on it. No lyrics, either - just pure sonic weirdness. Ha!
  15. I concur with Ian here. I like 5/9 better than 5/8. And the transition back into the Playin' Reprise on 5/19 is 5 minutes of some of my favorite post-'74 Dead ever. Those Sugarees from that month are as sick as that song ever got too.
  16. Thanks for posting this Aman. That 3 minutes was better than a whole episode of SNL.
  17. You know, HRC's supporters have every right to have the chance to vote for her in the remaining primary states. And I suppose HRC has every right to hang in until June 3 for those folks. But what it boils down to for me is what kind of campaign she's going to run for the next 25 days. If it's the kind of campaign she ran in PA or OH I'd say there's no point in that anymore - it will just hurt the party and reinforce the idea that she's a bitch who can't let go (right or wrong, that will probably be the perception). If she takes the high road and saves the venom for the current Administration a
  18. I think you are talking about 9/3/77 Englishtown NJ. Only show of the summer that year. Possibly my favorite Half-Step, and long monster NFA, among other gems.
  19. "Lights out, lights out in London!"
  20. Exactly. In fact it's very cool.
