These guys were a staple on the great, great early '80s L.A. show New Wave Theatre. I taped some of this stuff on VHS back in the day - I have them doing "NY's Alright.." among other things. But the interview segments (with host Peter Ivers) are just nuts. Example: Ivers: do you have a life philosophy? Ving: yes, my philosophy is 'stay gay all the way'. Ivers: well, it looks like you've succeeded. Ivers: does God exist? Ving : yes, God exists...but he's gay. and he's living in a Chrysler on Santa Monica Boulevard. Great stuff.

Dammit, this is exactly what I was talking about a few posts back - taking the low road as opposed to cranking up some shit for W and his ilk. Shameful.

JT is well known for throwing the curve balls at us. I'd love to see a 50 minute disc with one song on it. No lyrics, either - just pure sonic weirdness. Ha!

I concur with Ian here. I like 5/9 better than 5/8. And the transition back into the Playin' Reprise on 5/19 is 5 minutes of some of my favorite post-'74 Dead ever. Those Sugarees from that month are as sick as that song ever got too.

You know, HRC's supporters have every right to have the chance to vote for her in the remaining primary states. And I suppose HRC has every right to hang in until June 3 for those folks.
