  1. I want loud rock music, free dope, and fucking in the streets - just as Abbie intended.
  2. "Inspired millions"...."Very similar to President Reagan"... Jesus F. Christ. It's official - nearly half of Americans should have been on the short bus during their school years.
  3. I thought Flaming Pie was a really good one.
  4. Call me an old curmudgeon, but I've never liked Dr. Pepper and I've never liked W. Axl Rose. Carry on...
  5. Thanks brianjeremy. I'll be digging on this. ::sends out bat-signal for Basil II::
  6. Man, it seems like every time the Colts and Chargers play each other it's heart attack city - another nail-biter last night. Vinateri is a pressure guy to be sure.
  7. Sincere vibes from the flatlands Chuck. Take care.
  8. Obama has done more than "well" - he ran the best campaign anyone alive has ever seen, and changed the way campaigns in the future will be run. He should be proud. But he seems well aware that the 2 year campaign was just the coin toss - now the heavy hitting begins.
  9. It is tragic to be sure, but the fact is that it's also a pretty common occurrence. Sadly.
  10. Infidels, man. Nearly anything off of that record - hell, "Blind Willie McTell" is one of his best tunes and it didn't even make the cut!
  11. "Mary Jane" is a very curious little piece of music. The first half is almost like a children's sing-a-long, and then...that last half is amazing stuff - very Syd Barrett-influenced. It's really a shame this didn't make the record somehow.
  12. We who have so much To you who have so little To you who don't have anything at all We who have so much More than any one man does need And you who don't have anything at all Does anybody need another million dollar movie Does anybody need another million dollar star Does anybody need to be told over and over Spittin in the wind comes back at you twice as hard Strawman - going straight to the devil Strawman - going straight to hell Strawman - going straight to the devil Strawman, strawman (yes) Does anyone need a billion dollar rocket Does anyone need a $60,000 car Does anyone need an
  13. Lou: of COURSE we're gonna be disappointed... Yes, but not so much I'm gonna scream my head off at this early stage. I have to adopt a 'wait and see' attitude.
  14. I'll be playing at a benefit - that is to say, my youngest kid's 18th birthday party. All proceeds will go to finding a nice place for her to live.* *j/k
  15. As soon as I read that sentence my very first thought was "Oh man, is b2 gonna shit when he reads this!" Pretty LARGE handful, I must say.
  16. Hell yeah - that song is a not just a song, it's a philosophy. One of the cool things about the record is how there's almost no silence between many of the songs - it's like a suite or something the way they all blend tgether.
  17. Happy Birthday to one of VC's coolest ladies! Have a great day!
  18. I love Waste - but it had yet to be written at the time of our wedding. My wife's favorite "slow" tune. I was in a bluegrass/jamgrass outfit a few years ago and we played the shit out of Sparkle - not a fave but still it was fun.
  19. I had "Pepper", "Abbey Road", and the Red and Blue LPs when I was really little but for some reason I never acquired the White Album until I was in my late teens. By that time I had already seen the movie Helter Skelter and read the book so that LP is always linked to Tate/LaBianca in my mind - and it still creeps me the fuck out. Great record though.
  20. Damn, I'm impressed! Other than Stash (which has taken YEARS to get right) I haven't even attempted to try most of the catalogue. Save for the slower things like Billy, Dirt etc. Had a nice blister on my lip once trying Fish's solo on "I Didn't Know" though.
  21. 11/20/71 - Pauley Pavillion, UCLA II: Truckin' > Drums > Other One > Ramble On Rose > Sugar Mag, You Win Again, NFA > China Cat Jam > GDTRFB > NFA I only have the second set, and from the reviews it sounds like the first set is pretty much a snoozefest. But the band sure comes out firin' for this set! Again, Keith has been a member for one month but he sounds so good here. There are some meltdowns and some bluesy sequences in the very excellent Other One that show how excited everyone is by the new direction Keith is taking the music - they haven't sounded so loose in
  22. Happy belated birthday to Joe The Vice President-Elect. 66 years old! Y'all can hate on him all you want. I don't care, and I still think Barack made the right choice.
  23. Yeah Moe, you're not asking for too much there. Mockingbird IS a diificult one, but so is Fluff, the "fugue" section of Reba, and many others. If it's not done properly it can just be a train wreck. This is why practice practice practice is necessary! I will second the Gamehenge action though - man I just LOVE that thing, and to think those tunes were written by a 20 year old kid is just unreal.
