  1. Eh, bummer but someone will step up to assume the role.
  2. Ask them who the hell they are....
  3. Little known fact: their name actually derives from a Spanish term that translates to English as "The Wolves."
  4. It says their starting rotation is going to struggle mightily. The #1 starter (Jeremy Guthrie) is ranked in the bottom 3rd of all opening day starters (from the source I read). More important are the patchy scrap heap of the other 4 starters, though. De La Rosa comes back eventually, but it's a real shady rotation regardless.
  5. Have you never had lobster w/ warm butter washed down with a cold beer?!!! Congrats to the kids....
  6. There's a decent chance that 49 yr old Jamie Moyer will be in the starting rotation for the Rockies....
  7. And suspect pitching yet again! You from Denver too?
  8. I agree. Stronger show/tunes played imo. Still cool to see the live stuff, though. Don't know where any of you people live but the Weir-Chris Robinson-Jackie Greene trio deal is doing a handful of dates again in a feww months. I caught them last summer north of Denver and it was really good stuff. They're back in Denver area for 2 this time around and I know IN and a couple other stops. Catch it if you can.
  9. Moss....didn't see you at any of the Phil shows. I thought Scofield was really kind of a non-factor for a lot of the shows (went on Fri and Sat only). he was turned down kind of low and really seemed to keep to himself most most of the time and off to the side. Regardless, the shows were solid.
  10. Few GD moments get me off like the China->Rider this era ('73, moreso) due to the Feelin' Groovy transition jam.....
  11. Listened to a 39 minute Lovelight last week from The Warehouse in New Orleans that was done the day after their bust (needed scratch for legal fees I believe). Pretty interesting time changes in that one...
  12. Yeah, they did the same set lists. We left after the GD set (which opened the original Watkins Glen show, too) as we had been at the sister bar since about 1 that day for a bday party.
  13. I'm assuming so. Quixotes has been around since '96. The guy who owns it kicked me out of his condo in Boulder so he could move to Denver and open up a venue. He owned 4 for awhile but has pared down to 2.
  14. Nice. I have a pretty decent version already but thanks. Gonna catch the entirety of the '73 Watkins Glen show live tomorrow w/ 3 different (imo excellent) bands doing The Band set, ABB set, and GD sets.Gonna be a marathon day/night....
  15. No money involved. Generally, blanks and sase sent to another head for certain shows/runs and you toss in x number of blanks as "payment" for that person dubbing the shows and sending them back. I don't think I ever got burned, actually. I was doing the same for other folks. Lots of word-of-mouth about who had sbds, who was reliable, timely, etc. I was agreeing with Terrapin Tapes. My bad.
  16. Thats the one...based out of CT (Greenwich, I think).
  17. I used to buy my Maxells in bulk from that place. Still have over 1000 tapes in huge tupperware bins. Bust them out every once in a blue moon, too....
  18. In fairness to Rush, he meant any junkie but himself.
  19. Caught a few of Lazy Lightening-> Supplications in 81/82. Wasn't a huge fan at first but grew to like the combo.
  20. Saw JGB a bunch at Beacon Theatre, Bushnell, other pretty small places. Just JG and John Kahn, too. Think I caught a solo Jerry (only did 2-3 in '82, Iirc).
  21. Hmm. Maybe I wrongly assumed that his pay was roughly equivalent to a radio listenership.
  22. The man signed a $200 M (makes over $50 M/yr) contract in 2008 because he is taken seriously by a very large market. They are out there and support him in most of what he says, too.
  23. He's certainly getting a decent amount of press, which must make him happy. Just ignore him. He'll go away soon enough.
