  1. It apparently drove Hillary to pick up smoking again.
  2. I haven't watched a lot of hockey the last few years but was able to catch the Bruins/Flyers game last night. I'm not sure if it's because of rule changes I'm not aware of, because it's play off hockey, or both, but it seemed to me that there is far less dumping pucks into the opposing teams zones (save for the defense doing it on power plays). It made the game that much more enjoyable to watch as there seemed to be a more consistent flow (less whistles for icing, etc.).... Can anyone who follows hockey more regularly comment on this?
  3. Is there a country that wanted him to be buried in their homeland? I think that was the bigger issue.....
  4. Not the first but the first pristine quality board, yes. The Betty boards are sometimes said to be overrated but I think that's only because soooooo much excellent quality material is available to us now. Back in the 80s that Cornell tape (and ones similar) were Godsends. My recommendation is to go to archives.org and hunt around on your own for stuff that is appealing to your ear. Experoment with the different eras on your own to see if anything resonates with you. If something does, you're in luck. Experimenting/discovering the nuances of the band was fond, fond times. With thousands of
  5. Holy crap my just-turned 4 yr old LOVES Star Wars, too. Everything is about wookies and princes Leia and all. It's weird. I don't know much about the movies (saw the first w=one many years ago) but he seems to be abudding expert on the subject.
  6. Damn it, if I had a dictionary handy I'd look up "meme."
  7. I agree with all of this but I also feel that a part of Buddy Holly died with Busey's image always in my head now. And yeah, I know Buddy really did die.
  8. I can't think of Buddy Holly now without getting a glaring image of Gary Busey in my head. You may not have heard, but Gary was nominated for an Oscar for his portrayal of Buddy. In 1979. 1979. Gary Busrey. Oscar nominee. 1979. Don't forget that.
  9. Shouldn't it be called a "rickastley" then?
  10. If only there was a way to find out using a computer....
  11. Well at least we have a few months to speculate on it.....
  12. Does anyone even know when the album comes out?
  13. Hop On Pop Music Hop On Wilco I just can't decide....
  14. Chicago-style pizza is nowhere near as cracked up as people from Chicago make it oput to be. It is good, though. NY-style is better. New Haven style is the best. CO-style sucks. It's waaay too doughy. F-in' Beaujeaoax or however they spell it.
  15. I always got a kick out of the "Chiclets" guy in the front row.... That "The Music Never Stopped" movie was in an independent theatre here for a week or two. I thought it'd be around longer so I missed it. Anybody here seen it?
  16. ReallY?!! This seems overly paranoid to me. The "concerty etiquette" thing has been discussed here and a lot of other places. There will always be some people who piss others off for whatever reason and others that will be easily pissed off for little or no reason at concerts, but people being afraid of dangerous looking pweople?!? At a Wilco concert?!!!! Kind of silly, no?
  17. New Road Trips: Denver Coliseum '73: http://www.dead.net/road-trips/road-trips-vol-4-no-3?eml=dn/041111/header Both this show (11.21) and the previous night (11.20) are excellent, as is virtually everything from that fall '73 tour. I'll assume the bonus disc will include tunes from the 11.20.73 Denver show.
  18. I saw this yesterday. It's right up the road from Denver. I'm on it. re: Jackie Greene per mjpuczko's post above- Jackie has several albums out and was in Phil's band for a awhile from 2007-08, along with Dylan guitarist Larry Campbell. He's played with members of the GD a bunch, too.....
  19. In a few months it will likely be summer, too. Then it will be too hot for many people.
  20. I'm not from here, I just live here....
