  1. Music->Sugaree->Music opener. The Zoo Amp on JG's birthday is the one that sticks out as mediocre, for some reason. The Alpine's, Iowa City, St. Paul, and St. Louis shows are tight, though.
  2. Let's be honest here: alll those mopey English bands^^^ suck and deserve nothing.
  3. Debates don't matter anyway, right? Besides, Obama was obviously stoned last night. He was going for the "Colorado" vote. Well played, dude. well played.
  4. A lot of the 70s Prog Rock bands, I'd guess....
  5. Or maybe "Baby Blue".... re: Elvis Costello: he has funny glasses.
  6. Yeah they had just busted those tunes out a few weeks earlier, iirc. Those early versions of Touch were really kind of slow and funky, almost. The one from Lake Placid '83 is one of my alltime favorites. In fact, the whole show is fantastic top to bottom.
  7. I really need that box set. I do have a lot of the shows from that spring on tape and disc but would love to hear the masters.....
  8. Offer them some lasagna. They love lasagna. And if you know any parlor tricks, don't be afraid to break those out. They love parlor tricks, too.
  9. Have you heard the album? From his Greek Theatre shows. Lots of energy/excellent tunes/great back up band.
  10. Yeah, it is excellent. Been listening to it on a fairly consistent basis since mid-70s.....
  11. Pretty sure Ziggy Stardust is an incorrect answer.
  12. Yeah, I wouldn't know where to start with all the live releases, but for this conversation Reckoning has to be in it. Fantastic recording of fantastic acoustic music. Dead Set (the electric counterpart to the shows Reckoning were culled from) is excellent, too. My dad was already sick of me going to GD shows a lot by the time I played Reckoning for him on a long car ride around '83. He had never really heard the GD before and about half-way through the first side, asked who we were listening to. He was surprised/shocked to learn that the music we were listening to and BOTH enjoying was the
  13. We played Egyptian Rat Fuck a lot when I lived in New Hampshire with young hippie freaks. Great game.
  14. Get down get down, pull yer panties down...
  15. Green Day. Never hated them, per se, but never liked them much. I enjoy their stuff now. Guess I was just judging them on the first couple hits off of Dookie that I was sick of hearing back in the late 90s. It's a good album, though. Same with Sublime. Some good music there. Both of these decisions arose from being with a chick a little younger than me and her turning me on to the less radio-friendly body of the bands' work.
  16. Oh man I hadn't listened to the Police in a long while and went back to their early stuff not long ago and they were still great. Fuck Sting, but he was awesome in theat band. I can no longer listen to Tiny Tim, though.
  17. So Nats make post season and no Strasburg? Nice. Guess they really don't need him....
  18. ^ That Shakedown really is epic. The whole show is right on, too. The China->Rider is excellent to close the first set, as well. I loved the early days of Brent, too, all over tunes like Shakedown. Pleasant change from how Keith was often merely just mimicking Garcia's notes/patterns in tunes like Shakedown towards his last year in the band....
  19. Backgammon is awesome, but Acey-Deucey is better. Dominoes Spades Trivial Pursuit Trivial Pursuit Slam Scrabble Gin Rummy ...and any game that I can work in undressing as an added rule to get my fiance half-/non-clad by the end of the game is great.
  20. Heroes. Watched the first season and it turned to suck about 4 episodes in.
