I asked a day or two ago what the deal is on him. I had heard rumor that he had mob connections and wanted to know if this is a complete falsehood or has a glint of truth to it. He's also ill-equipped for the job, from what I gather. Any word on that, too?

So nobody knows anything about the Transportation Sect'y appointee from Ill.?

Scalpers have no right to making a profit on someone else's ticket, though. It's an ethical thing more than anything for me. Supply and demand works just fine within the confines of the law.

Perez deal. It's a lot for a very mediocre pitcher, imo: http://www.nypost.com/seven/02022009/sport...erez_153238.htm Where will Pedro go?

Either take her as a "surprise" or just get a ticket for yourself. She'll understand if you slip her some money to go shop for a few hours while you hit the show.

This place in Bailey is actually pretty decent, besides being an affirmed "roadside attraction" : http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/1532. If in Denver, hit Pete's Kitchen on Colfax. It's a local legend and has been around for ages: http://www.petesrestaurantstoo.com/petesKitchen.html Check out the "Sleeper House" when passing along 1-70 west of Denver at Genessee Pass: http://www.rockymountainnews.com/drmn/real...4775779,00.html. Do not miss a stop in to Red Rocks Ampitheatre in Morrison (it's open to the public when no shows are going on). It's a great little hike and a must-see. If

What's the scoop with the Transportation Secretary appointee. Is he just clueless or does he have some mob backing?

I think Bruce's prices are more in the average range for acts of his caliber and the Dead tix are over-priced (though they seem to be selling well so in reality I guess they are not overpriced). The best way to eradicate scalpers is to not support them. However, waaaay too many people support them. Mail-order only is one way to help cut down on the scalpers, though. And yes, Ticketmaster blows, as do all the various off-shoots. It's a convenience that plenty of people choose to use, though, and they'll only continue to take larger and larger cuts.

These tickets are cheaper than the Dead tickets. By a good chunk, too.

He's a role model whether he likes it or not.

He's a superhero in my book if he can blow tubes and still retain an Olympic swimmer's lung capacity. Pot's the gateway drug to athletics, they say.

Which reminds me:Charlie Miller has a few down-loadable aud. re-mixes that are really quite good (as would anything musically be with his name attached to it). I was unaware that he went that route (outside of the sbds/matrix stuff) until a few days ago poking around on there. I dl'ed 4-5 shows of his and they're all excellent aud. quality.

I agree. I wonder how much of an influence Boras had in that. Apparently they thought there'd be more of a market for him and couldn't read the writing on the wall soon enough.

Cheers, A-man. Hope you get some big sound all year....

http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/reds...as/extra_bases/ $5 M/1 yr.

Yeah, probably the end of his prime. He still served plenty of value defensively the past couple of seasons but he's a back-up part time guy now and he and Boras don't think that's the case, apparently.
-
'Tek was very mighty in his prime and served the team very well in how he handled pitchers and back-stopped. He's snearing at the offer and BOS is best to move on to Salty, etc.

I always thought it was George Harrison.

Cheers, Basil!
