There are people whom are not "ultra-left" whom also did not vote for Nader or a front-runner. I don't think it's a matter as simple as was he a douchebag or not. Indications show that the BWAA are reluctant to allow entry into the HOF for players accused/shown to be steroids users. Records show that he began using in 1998. Regardless, he used. I also think it's unfair to speculate what he would have done had he not used steroids. If he didn't need them them why did he use them?

So after he started using steroids around '98? I don't think Bonds will ever be accepted into the HOF.

For me, it was just waaaay overplayed in a relatively short period of time and was a pretty crummy encore, too. I didn't mind it so much early on in it's life as a first-set closer. The only tune ever removed from the repertoire as a result of fan request.

I think Sheffield has a very good shot at the HOF, assuming no more serious allegations of steroids- or proof of use, for that matter- as he was named in the Mitchell Report. I think Sheffield's numbers are HOF-worthy, for the most part.

Picked up two books from the library today that I'm very much looking forward to reading: His Peace Like a River is one of the best-written books I've ever read, so my expectations are high. Martin Clark is a 40-something judge in rural VA and has a wit and style that I find very amusing. His first two books are both excellent, entertaining reads.

Gah! The HOF, since the Rose lifetime banning from MLB (which he agreed to) does not admit or even consider players/managers on the permanent ineligibility list. Rose deserves nothing.

They're looking to use Blalock mainly as a DH, and I'd assume he'll spell Davis at 1B when he does play the field as Davis can play 3B, as well. I'd also assume this puts TEX in a search for a competent 3B player, though. Blalock's avg. is closer to .275, too. And, he has a decent OBP despite a lot of strikeouts. As he's played a limited role the past two seasons because of injuries TEX must believe his bat can stay lively for the better part of a season if his main focus is just hitting, which he's known to go on some nice tears with.

There's absolutely no way I can pinpoint a favorite, as there are just a mind-numbing number of them, but a few that come to immediate mind: "The ghost of 'lectricity, howls in the bones of her face" and "The harmonicas play the skeleton keys and the rain." Actually, pretty much the entire tune will suffice. I always got a kick out of "A lot of people don't have much food on their table/But they got a lot of forks n' knives/And they gotta cut somethin'" from "Talkin' New York."
