Sure! If you believe that he actually ever existed.

I'd include John Rocker and Pete Rose. Ted Williams was known to be pretty damn surly, too. And don't forget Kennesaw Mountain Landis as Commissioner.

There are people whom are not "ultra-left" whom also did not vote for Nader or a front-runner. You continue to pigeon-hole anyone who did not vote for one of the two big boy candidates, and in particular the one candidate that you supported, as whiny and clueless douche bags. But in reality, everybody bitches no matter who is in the white house. And people who voted contrary to you (or didn't vote at all, for that matter) have as much right as anyone else to carp about the system or whoever is in office or policy or whatever. And, even those who do not support either of the two main parties

Please. There is proof. The book is not speculation. There is more evidence beyond the book, too. Perjury charges are being looked into due to Bonds lying about his use.

WAS get Scott Olson and Josh Willingham from FLA for Emilio Bonifacio and a couple of Minor leaguers (not much of return there, FLA): Longoria and Soto named ROYs: http://www.rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines...B&hl=251905

Game of Shadows details his use beginning right after the 1998 season.

I don't think it's a matter as simple as was he a douchebag or not. Indications show that the BWAA are reluctant to allow entry into the HOF for players accused/shown to be steroids users. Records show that he began using in 1998. Regardless, he used. I also think it's unfair to speculate what he would have done had he not used steroids. If he didn't need them them why did he use them?
-
So after he started using steroids around '98? I don't think Bonds will ever be accepted into the HOF.

For me, it was just waaaay overplayed in a relatively short period of time and was a pretty crummy encore, too. I didn't mind it so much early on in it's life as a first-set closer. The only tune ever removed from the repertoire as a result of fan request.
-
I think Sheffield has a very good shot at the HOF, assuming no more serious allegations of steroids- or proof of use, for that matter- as he was named in the Mitchell Report. I think Sheffield's numbers are HOF-worthy, for the most part.

Picked up two books from the library today that I'm very much looking forward to reading: His Peace Like a River is one of the best-written books I've ever read, so my expectations are high. Martin Clark is a 40-something judge in rural VA and has a wit and style that I find very amusing. His first two books are both excellent, entertaining reads.

I thought that was b2's point. Maybe not, but yeah, I'd agree with you bjorn.

CO gets CL Huston Street, LHP Greg Smith and OF Carlos Gonzalez. Not bad as there was no way Holliday was staying in CO. I believe they are looking to dump Street for more starting pitching, too.: http://www.sportsline.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6270335/11618874

Gah! The HOF, since the Rose lifetime banning from MLB (which he agreed to) does not admit or even consider players/managers on the permanent ineligibility list. Rose deserves nothing.

Happy birthday MrBnB!

Have a fantastic day. :badger -
They're looking to use Blalock mainly as a DH, and I'd assume he'll spell Davis at 1B when he does play the field as Davis can play 3B, as well. I'd also assume this puts TEX in a search for a competent 3B player, though. Blalock's avg. is closer to .275, too. And, he has a decent OBP despite a lot of strikeouts. As he's played a limited role the past two seasons because of injuries TEX must believe his bat can stay lively for the better part of a season if his main focus is just hitting, which he's known to go on some nice tears with.

Keith Richards takes down a stage rusher and keeps on playing:

I met a young child beside a dead pony, I met a white man who walked a black dog, I met a young woman whose body was burning, I met a young girl, she gave me a rainbow, I met one man who was wounded in love, I met another man who was wounded with hatred....

Yes! I've touted this movie for years to many folks. Highly underrated. What a terrific film. Possibly my favorite all-time, as well. So many great scenes and Peter Falk is superb for his role. ed. I tried watching It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World with my 6 and 8 year-olds a week ago and they just couldn't get into it. Maybe I'll try Pulp Fiction or Apocalypse Now....

There's absolutely no way I can pinpoint a favorite, as there are just a mind-numbing number of them, but a few that come to immediate mind: "The ghost of 'lectricity, howls in the bones of her face" and "The harmonicas play the skeleton keys and the rain." Actually, pretty much the entire tune will suffice. I always got a kick out of "A lot of people don't have much food on their table/But they got a lot of forks n' knives/And they gotta cut somethin'" from "Talkin' New York." And: "If dogs run free, why not me/Across the swamp of time?"

Cubs close in on Peavy. TEX exercises Blalock option for 2009 ($6.2 M) and will look to using him as a DH. SD exercises 2009 option on Brian Giles ($9 M). ARI looking at Mark Loretta. BOS looking into Baldelli. HOU re-signs LaTroy Hawkins ($3.5 M). NYM interested in J.J. Putz. STL interested in Holliday with talks going on. Manny offer from LAD "isn't long enough" ($45 M/2 yrs.). And Willie Randolph to become bench coach for MIL. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/headlines.aspx?sport=MLB
