Position, yes. Also, Pedroia leads the AL in BA, Runs Scored, Hits, Doubles. Sure, some weaker categories than OPS but when talking about an MVP we need to look at the contributions of a player to his team's success. I don't think the Sox are at the top of the Wild Card without Pedroia.

Why default? He's had, arguably, the better season than either. Certainly better than Quentin.

A valid case might be made for Manny as the NL MVP.

Wood hasn't been terrible out of the bullpen, in general, this year. Not sure what kind of $ he actually generates for the club as he's been injured/washed up for the most part of the last 8-9 years.

I was teaching fifth graders in another district and we had a t.v. on during most of it. As it was live, we made a judgement call to let them watch under our discretion. Man, I can't tell you how many back alley 1/2-dollar-for-bills deals I've lived through over the years. Don't feel bad about trading the collectible coins for common bills, either. It was Chinese food, after all.

Ricky Skaggs is a pretty amazing musician. He's collaboreted with a lot of the greats, even Bill Monroe when he was a very young kid. I've seen him several times and he's always a pleasure to hear. His album with Bruce Hornsby from a few years ago is worth a listen, too.
