  1. Not sure if it's mentioned in the thread, but for those interested in catching parts of the fest there's the AT+T Blue Room: http://attblueroom.com/events/bonnaroo.php
  2. Hey where was the above picture taken? Looks like a pal of mine from VA in the blue shirt in the background.
  3. Sun's going down I'm going back to my cave I've got no one to lead No one to save And I like the music In my head I think I'll work, yeah For her instead Well I I draw a circle in the sand Can draw a circle in the sand Can draw a circle Yeah yeah Soft sweet devil light my way Sure do, sure do Time to move on Rise like an animal balloon Pigs over Jerusalem I can't fall too soon But when the angel picks me up She calls my name There is charity but she says Power money and fame Well I draw circle in the sand Can draw a circle in the sand Can draw a circle Yeah yeah Soft sweet devil light
  4. Someone should start a thread.
  5. I disagree. Most tunes sound better to me live than on an album. Spiders, Handshake Drugs, Muzzle of Bees, and I'm a Wheel in particular off of AGIB. There's something about having the "moment" in a live setting and expecting/experiencing a variance (no matter how slight) in a tune that makes going to a show rewarding to me. I like having the album versions set in my head and then experiencing the differences in how it's played live. I'd take a live version of almost all tunes over a studio version just about every time. ed. I think I misread the initial query, though. There are some tu
  6. I'd like to get "Beloved Aunt" on my neck.
  7. My friend's mom dropped us off at that when we were 13 or 14 or so at a small theater in Woodstock, VT. I fell asleep during it.
  8. That's the one, NC-17. So technically/legally these parent's did nothing wrong. They're just morons. Maybe the film should have a different rating on it, too.
  9. Oh. I always thought R rating was no one under 17 (or whatever) regardless. This changes everything and also opens up new possibilities for entertaining my 5 and 7 year olds. U.S.A.! U.S.A.! U.S.A.!
  10. Moronic adults are nothing new. They generally follow in the footsteps of their moronic parents. It's tradition. If I'm assuming the flick is rated R, how the hell are they admitted in? There's no hope for the moronic parent (they'll just rent the flick and let them watch it at home in a few months) at this stage in passing on moronic sensibilities to their offspring, but the theater should be assessed some fines or something.
  11. I'm with you. Maybe a better term for me to have used would have been "ballsy."
  12. I'm not suggesting it's unethical or cheating when I use the term "shady." It's shady because it crosses the unwritten rule line (or at least comes close) in many people's eyes. Ballplayers and fans alike. That's all. I remember reading in a local paper out there the next day quotes of other players saying they would not have bunted in that situation. Others were praising Davis (most Padre's players/coaches). It's just a fine line with some people believing it's a step over that line. Hence, it's shady. Just part of the often finicky nature of the game
  13. Yeah, it was 2-0 at that point in the 8th. Schilling ended up giving up 2-3 hits by the end of the game with ARI winning 2-1. There was the usual argument about protocol/etiquette and earning your way onto the bag at that stage of the (near-perfect) game, as I recall. The other team is looking for a "W" just the same, though. I agree. It's still shady, though.
  14. I was at a game in San Diego in 2001 when Schilling (w/ Arizona) was 4 or 5 outs from completing a perfect game and a Padre (I think it was catcher Ben Davis) bunted a little squibbler to get on base. There were some people (besides the Diamondbacks) a little miffed by that.
  15. Yes. And "naily." I read Verlander was hitting 100 with his fastball last night at times. Yipes.
  16. Rumor has it Eckstein wears lifts in his cleats. I, for one, appreciate Eckstein's moxy. He is scrappy. Like a gnat.
  17. I agree. Brent brought a lot of new life to a lot of tunes when he joined. In the live setting "Minglewood" was often a highlight of the show for me just because of the interaction sometimes shown between Garcia and Brent. Garcia would turn his back to the rest of the band and square up to face Brent during Brent's solo part and they'd both be just utterly beaming at each other, seemingly tuning everyone and everything around them out. Good times.
  18. I kind of favor the original Noah Lewis version with Cannon's Jug Stompers. What's going on here, anyway?

    ELO

They play around here a lot. I think they're a Denver band but I've never caught them before....
  20. According to the site: "All shows are 16 and over with proper I.D." I'd assume no one under 16 but I may be wrong. Although I took my kids to a matinee Mike Franti and Spearhead show there a year ago. Of course, it was a kid's show, too. Red Rocks would have been cool, but it also holds 10,000 folks, as opposed to 3,000 at The Fillmore.

    ELO

Not a big fan of ELO but there was a tribute album put out a few years ago (early 00's I think) called Lynne Me Your Ears where Ken Coomer and some guys from the Mavericks and Cheap trick played a track or two on it. So there you go.
  22. I'll take the Fillmore over the Paramount (where it's nearly impossible to do anything but sit in your seat) for a rockin' Wilco show. Paramount is great for John Prine, Leo kottke, etc. IMO. I like the GA atmosphere of The Fillmore for electric tunes. Red Rocks would've been nice but I'll take what I can get.
  23. I've got two younger brothers who are firefighters (one in Brooklyn, the other in Manhattan). They get a chuckle out of the show. I've never seen it myself. Might have to check it out.
