  1. Mmmmmmmnnnnn....ba-connnnnnn. I used to live in Dutchess County. Fishkill. We had a parade for that t.v. show michael Moore used to do. It lasted about 8 minutes and featured local bikers, clowns, and that chick "Duff."
  2. I would use bacon-flavored toothpaste if they made it.
  3. I am cooking bacon presently. I like bacon. And saying "Knute Rockne"
  4. For albums, 'Workingman's Dead" is a good choice. As is "Reckoning." Depends on what you're searching for, really. I've never met a person who doesn't at least passively apprerciate "Reckoning."
  5. I once saw Bill Brasky scissor-kick Angela Lansbury. He also breast-fed a flamingo back to life.
  6. Why, thank you. It's never too early (or late) to wish someone a Happy Birthday!
  7. Actually, I thought it was just common courtesy these days to bestow birthday wishes on the unsuspecting.
  8. That sounds great. I'll take mine lathered in mayo on rye bread, triple-decker style. I actually am going to make BLTs tonight for the family now since I can't get the image of them out of my brain. Happy Birthday, too.
  9. Tiptoe through the window By the window, that is where I'll be Come tiptoe through the tulips with me Oh, tiptoe from the garden By the garden of the willow tree And tiptoe through the tulips with me Knee deep in flowers we'll stray We'll keep the showers away And if I kiss you in the garden, in the moonlight Will you pardon me? And tiptoe through the tulips with me
  10. One's hitting the bottle while the other is on the spoon? Sounds like an intervention is needed.
  11. Assuming "watching the boys" isn't a euphemism for something you do in private, you've got your hands full for your "vacation." I'm at the tail end of my summer break (2 more weeks left) and the wife went back to work this week. I've been/will be watching my boys solo for these last 2 weeks. I'm trying to break a non-existant record for "most refills of sippy cups by one human" for the duration.
  12. Yeah, they cheered. Boneheads. For anyone interested and without access, here's an excellent version of Dancin' ->Franklin's from November '79 in Buffalo that's always been one of my favorites. Fantastic guitar work on both. The Jack Straw is ferocious, as well. http://stash.nugs.net/attics/frames.asp?pa...4&cmd=shows
  13. I was living up in Boulder when he died, working in a restaurant with a bunch of yahoos who began actually cheering when it was announced over the kitchen radio. A friend stopped by an hour later and i used an excuse to take the rest of the day off. We headed up to the mountains to a pal's house and met a bunch of other buddies. We all sat around reminiscing and drinking. Merl Saunders played that night (the 9th) in Boulder. It was a great place to be as Merl payed homage through his music, much of which was usually performed with JG.
  14. Exactly. Lamont is basically a no-name guy but is being backed solely because of his anti-war take. As a former citizen of CT and someone who used to support Leiberman I think he's acting selfishly in terms of what's best for the Democratic party. I went to H.S. with his kids and have met the man a few times (even been to his house) and I don't think the man is a scumbag or a bad guy, just that he's desperately trying to cling to a position that he's warn out his welcome in.
  15. You, sir, are an avataracist.
  16. When my wife gets out of bed before me, she often attempts to make the bed while I'm still in it, often waking me up due to the wrangling of pillows and sheets. What the hell is that all about?
  17. There's talk of a Mickey, Billy, Steve Kimock, and Mike Gordon thing being put together....
  18. So I just realized I've seen Nels Cline play with Banyan before but didn't realize it. Nel's has neat lookin' shoes.
  19. O'Reilly, like a lot of the folks who seem to get paid by the word to spew thoughts off the tops of their heads, doesn't seem to be too sensitive with his word choices often. Like here. Calling her moronic for having her car towed is, well, moronic. It happens to loads of sober (and drunk)people every night in Anywhere USA. Insinuating the victim was moronic for wearing a sexy outfit for a night out is, er, moronic. Getting drunk: not necessarily moronic, but certainly not a great decision (especially as she's not even legal drinking age, but whatever). The girl made a poor, inebriate
  20. Andy Rooney should have a reality series.
  21. I hear ya, man. Roast beef overcooked again?
