  1. I'm assuming February is not an average month?
  2. Three times I've seen this thread title and thought it was "Looking for a decent umbrella" and thought it a bit strange because 1) aren't they pretty much all the same? and 2) it's not even raining out.
  3. There is no point, basically. There are a couple Ratdog shows (w/ Kimock from Karan's first absence) and some Q and P&F w/ Trey or CR, but beyond that, no point (for me).
  4. Just curious: Does anyone here listen to recordings of any post-GD groups (bought/dl'ed/whatever)? I listen to some Ratdog now and again and P&F now and again, but I don't think I've ever re-listened to FTW, The Dead, Other Ones, etc. Any time I think about putting a show on from any f them, I talk myself out thinking: why not just listen to the real deal good stuff?
  5. I can't imagine wanting to purchase these, but to each their own. They're also releasing Circles Around the Sun- Interludes for the Dead, the tunes Neal Casal, etc. recorded for the FTW shows. Pretty wild that nothing was prepared prior to recording nor added afterwards. http://www.dead.net/store/2000s/circles-around-sun-neal-casal-interludes-dead-2cd?cmpid=dn/2015November19/ComingSoonCircl-MoreInfo-main-more-1&eml=2015November19/2912747/6131962&etsubid=39856296
  6. I've seen DSO a lot, and JRAD once (and Dead & CO never- until next week) and would choose to see JRAD if I had to choose one. Save for the Quintet, probably the best post-GD stuff I've seen/heard.
  7. We've all have, NoJ. We all have....
  8. Blaming Snowden for the Paris attacks, indirectly, is weak. Compromises to national security likely have occurred due to his actions, which some people actually side with, but if the NSA and various degrees of the executive branch, DOJ, etc. could hornswoggle the U.S. citizens they're entrusted to protect by assuming they are above being accountable for their illegal actions, I'm sure they can find new ways to adapt to challenging/stopping terrorist ways.
  9. Today is the day after WEEN announced they'll be reuniting (at least very briefly, if not for a tour) by playing 2 shows in CO in Feb. Good news for WEEN fans everywhere, particularly in Colorado....
  10. I watched two specials/shows last night on Netflix by comedian John Mulaney. My wife and I had never heard of him until last night. That guy is funny as hell.
  11. That's really cool, I've never seen/heard that album before. I always knew them as strictly the freak show they were in the mid-late 70s.
  12. I think Use Your Illusion(s) 1 and 2 could have been pared down to one very good double album, but they don't suck. I also like some of the cover material off of The Spaghetti incident, and Lies is good, too.
  13. Yeah, saw them at The Ogden a little over a year ago. Probably the best show of last year for me. Your boy lives in Denver, eh?
  14. About 10 minutes after I posted this I found out they released more tix to the sold out CO shows, told my wife, and she purchased tix for the first night.... heh.
  15. Unfortunately for me (us), cost is often an issue. I usually need to weigh the cost of the entertainment against a bunch of other factors. Either way, I'd like to catch a show or two....
  16. Saw this just tonight. Wonder if its true. I'd go.
  17. I'm not down for paying $100, either. Shit, I'm not even sure I'd drop the &75 for the "cheap" tix here in CO. We'll see. My wife wants to go so we'll likely go. I'm cool with listening/watching on streams....
  18. Heard about this book this summer. It looks like an interesting read. Culled from several Mcnally interviews over a bunch of years in informal settings.... http://jerrygarcia.shop.musictoday.com/Product.aspx?cp=640_80301&pc=JYAM102 Tried to listen to the feed from taperrob last night but with too many stop/starts I gave up. Heard good reviews, though.
  19. I saw one of those at a Dead show once and it was indoors!
  20. I got turned on to them here, actually, (possibly through MChris) and have only listened to the album Endtime, which is really good (or good for nothing, heh). Great tune: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKyZB_TJGyo
  21. Yeah, I wonder where he (the editor credited on the cover) got the letters and also, why Black Sparrow/Jpohn Martin wasn't involved.
