  2. I'm married to Stewart and Colbert. Used to be Letterman. I think Conan is hilarious at times and not so much at others. He got screwed by NBC, so I jumped on his bandwagon, but I don't think I'll be watching his show unless there are guests on that I want to see. Towards that end I have Leno on DVR tonight to watch about 3 minutes when the Old 97s are on.
  3. It's one thing to be a clearly biased commentator. It's another thing to make donations to candidates immediately before or after they appear on your show.
  4. I've got one of the lap fan contraptions, the article says that doesn't help but I don't care. I had a low count to begin with. My wife and I did in vitro. When our twins were born the ob/gyn tied her tubes before sewing her up. If anything, I can consider all my laptop use insurance.
  5. I'll buy that. I really didn't know who he was at the time and just thought "meh". Clearly he was a great player, but I just don't think he makes Wilco any better. He played on the better LPs, but they're at the top of their game live w/ the current lineup IMO.
  6. My team is a disaster. Get rid of everyone save Percy and Adrian & start all over. Moss is an ahole but we knew this. Childress is a whiny little girl who fired Moss because he can't fire Favre.
  7. 1st time I saw Wilco was w/ Leroy (also w/ Mikael, pre-AGIB recording). I was underwhelmed by his stage presence. His playing was okay but didn't wow me the way Nels does.
  8. One moment has been captured by Tom Wolfe in the Electric Kool Aid Acid Test.
  9. We all give mass amounts of money to corporations (& Moe Tucker, to stay on topic) that they use to support politicians most of the people on this board hate. I don't give money to Wilco because of their politics. I don't listen to their music because of their politics. They have not made much overtly political music. They are entitled to their opinions, and entitled to support whom they want publicly or privately. We, as fans, are entitled to agree or disagree.
  10. I could see lots of empty seats at a neutral field. Embarrassing for baseball.
  11. They may reunite someday, I kinda doubt it. Fans deserve nothing. I don't know if that post was tongue in cheek, but I've never understood the idea that artists owe fans anything.
  12. Well said, Ikol. I always scoffed at Hillary Clinton writing a book called "It Takes a Village" and then filling that book with lots of big government suggestions to be the "village". I grew up in a neighborhood where all the parents knew all the kids and were allowed to and encouraged to discipline them when necessary. That was my village.
  13. I loved it. I thought the scene when the daughter spilled the shake in the restaurant was really key. Don started to yell because that's what he was used to, especially with Betty. When the secretary handled it in a "let's not cry over spilled milk" fashion, he realized what a good "mom" she'd be to the kids. Obviously there were other things leading up to it and w/o the ring in his possession it would have never occurred to him, but I thought it was great. He really thinks he'll be happy with her. He won't of course.
  14. Usually don't like electronic music. But really dig this.
  15. Yep. Not one single exception. Well, maybe one.
