i think this must have leaked pre-release. i'm wondering if it's real lo fi like that compilation track - which really just sounded like Britt solo.

I really liked their EP on Quite Scientific and they're supposed to put out another soon. The CD comes in a bound book with artwork and lyrics. I bought the CD before Paranoid came out and liked it, but when I first got Paranoid I didn't like. It grew on me later and is really good driving music - especially the last track.

How did you hear about this one?

so is he really not online at all now or is there some totally new website or blog i'm not aware of? his twitter hasn't been updated in a while. -
i missed the PBS thing. hopefully it reairs soon. i thought about buying the CD version but ended up not getting it. Harvest is his only album i own on CD, though i have several more i've bought cheaply on used vinyl.

anyone have any thoughts on the MC Honky album? i finally got it and haven't got to listen to it all yet.

i was also wondering if they have confirmed the cause of death.

i was getting the idea from the packaging that the Documentary was actually ON the CD, but it guess it's just a link to a download of it?
-
i'm so happy they're including a CD! of course, Best Buy and such may have the CD version on sale for $9.99 probably, but $20 list for a vinyl plus CD is good. i think most should do this anyway instead of just the MP3 download. manufacturing costs for CD's is next to nothing i would think, especially when just placing them with another product like vinyl.......but i don't really know.

no joke. i wonder if i can sell OOP I&W singles on eBay for anything?
-
wow! i don't remember it being advertised in the Sunday flyer.

I must have missed this. I've listened through Around the Well today and I like it quite a bit. Kinda pisses me off that I bought Shepherd's Dog through Sub Pop just so I could buy the Boy W A Coin single and get an "exclusive" CD with 2 songs and now all are on this. oh well. It was only $9.99 at Best Buy. I have another single, I think Passing Afternoon with Forsaken, but I think it's a live radio take and this one is studio (or home studio i guess).

i liked the one stream i did. i did kinda feel by the end of it that there were too many mid-tempo numbers in a row, but i may be fuzzy now. -

I don't think it held up too well because I believe by the end of the Cardinology tour they were hardly playing any of those songs any more. -

i bought the IB preorder, but i don't think i'll do this one. -
she actually went to my high school. i had no idea someone from Gilmer had been even semi-famous until i saw this movie, The Rachel Papers, and she had a song on there. BTW - is there any place non Quicktime/Mac people can stream this? work doesn't allow any Quicktime, etc to be downloaded.

I think I generally think of album length max as being what could fit on one vinyl record. I think Animal Collective's last one was great and it breaks that, but I think at least one song could have been shaved off of that one and not lose the vibe and feel of the album. If you have more great music than that, then consider an EP a few months down the road.

i dig this record. i agree it's way too long, but you can make your own 40 min album and then have a bonus EP i guess. i might look into the Nik Freitas solo stuff - i like Big Black Nothing - he sounds kinda like the one Dr Dog dude minus the rasp and a little Richard Ashcroft. btw - anyone seen a picture that labels who all the band is? other than Conor i don't know what any of the other guys look like. -
song title game is fun.

have any journalists or bloggers entitled the story: "Red Eyed and Sued..." ? (i haven't read through the thread so i could be late (great))

whole album stream: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.p...oryId=103604575 half way through this sounds like a proper follow up to Sophtware Slump maybe... -
what is it about Grandchildren you like - the lyrics? the melody/music is pretty standard. i actually watched my live DVD that came with Useless Trinkets last night and a good bit of the videos with Essentials. it's funny how much he hates the Susan's House video (he does commentary for all the vids with his dog).

there's a new video up on their Myspace, too. Read the new issue of MOJO Magazine's early review of the EELS HOMBRE LOBO album here: EELS HOMBRE LOBO **** 4 stars by James McNair Birds do it, bees do it, even beardly blokes named E do it... EELS' first studio record in four years presents E, aka Mark Oliver Everett, as a horny man-wolf. "Got her right here in my sights/Got a fuse that I can light," he drools on feral blues nugget Tremendous Dynamite, but concerns about our host's stalker tendencies ease with That Look You Give That Guy, a romantic slice of vulnerabi
