  1. It could be worse. We could be entering the era. or the era.
  2. I was lukewarm on it myself, but ya gotta have some rockers. I'll wait to see how it evolves (hopefully it will). There is enough chin stroking going on. A little more booty shakin would be a good thing. Just ask my wife (she knows). And Glenn, if you're listening, give that drum solo a little more length and bombast.
  3. If someone wanted to put their money where their mouth is MKH where would one start? Any websites you could recommend would be helpful.
  4. Great show last night. The missus and I had a wonderful time. We feel lighthearted and free this morning thanks to Wilco and much singing in unison with our fellow man. And much by Missus Dazzler. The sound was incredible. Even The Early Day Miners sounded good (as good as noisy shoe gazers can sound (I mean do you really need 4-5 guitars for each song). Our first show was London and the sound can not even be compared. The Poor Places/ Reservations was the highlight for me along with Reverend Tweedy's sermon on the stage (I too used to be just like you, arms folded, hands on my chin,"Tha
  5. A beautiful sight indeed!!! I have friends who were Dead tapers and I thought the tapers section was always a great idea.
  6. I think my wife may get tickets for us as my birthday present. Definitely the gift that keeps on giving.
  7. How could I forget my favorite Jewish lesbian folksinger.
  8. October 18th presale. So, silly question, but how hard is it going to be to score tickets.
  9. Missus Dazzler and I will be in row H. We're both looking forward to a night out (especially to see Wilco). Our 7 yr old daughter was a bit disapointed we weren't taking her. This will be our second show (first was London, Ont.).
  10. I almost forgot The River - Bruce Springsteen. Featuring the hit single Hungry Heart!
  11. A little Metal love !!! Holy Diver and The Last in Line - Ronnie James Dio Fair Warning - Van Halen (their last real album) The Specials - More Specials Madness - Madness The English Beat - I Just Can't Stop It, Special Beat Service Various Two-Tone artists - This Are Two-Tone Yep, I had me a porkpie hat and a skinny tie.
  12. The High School Musical soundtrack. It's like Grease for a new generation except it's made by Disney and the music is worse. Really any of that Disney crap is torture - Cheetah Girls anyone? Perhaps a bit of Hannah Montana? You would sell out your own mother after 10 minutes.
  13. Enjoy!!! The Invisibles is brilliant. I'll second Adrian Tomine. And throw in a Joe Sacco. Check out Drawn and Quarterlyfor more than caped crusaders.
  14. I've been enjoying that 9/20 show quite a bit lately like a fine beer. I wasn't even paying attention to the date. I'll spread the wealth with two freebies of that show to the first two pm's.
  15. My wife Amy received the e-mail today that she is a winner (the "Mom Rocks" cake/ Wilco family photo). It is a perfect ending to the photo. My wife bought me tickets to see Wilco in Ontario for father's day. We both had a great time at our first Wilco show. A couple of mix tapes later she's a big fan. She ensures the kids have fully consumed the Wilco kool-aid. The Blond Boy is a freak for Black Drum and Can't Hear It On The Radio (Wilco calls them Misunderstood and The Late Greats). His brother Monkey See Monkey Do of course concurs. The Older Sister loves I am Trying to Break Your Heart
  16. A song so good it inspired these filmakers. Take This Job and Shove it
  17. Arrrr, I've got a boot from The Largo in 79. Might have to pull that out whilst I work in the galley.
  18. more Keef Cause he stole Jerry Seinfeld's shirt. Cause he's on the cover of The Big Book of British Smiles. Cause he has impeccable personal hygiene.
  19. Yeah, what's the scoop? I'm looking forward to E. Lansing as well and have also never heard of Early Day Miners. I figured this was the place to come for enlightenment.
  20. Mike, a toast to your ambitious endeavor!!! I was doing some housecleaning to that wonderful 9/20/03 Auditorium Theatre show on Saturday. My wife and I were discussing the differences in the early live version of Handshake Drugs vs. the album version. Your project is destined for greatness.
  21. First off Bob's a Pistons fan, so he gains points with me. Second, I'm no apologist for any "classic rock artist", but classic rock radio can ruin anyones legacy by playing the same three songs until your whole catalog is despised. Thirdlly, Bob is a Michigan/midwestern artist and if you know his history and how he cut his teeth you can respect his hard work and sticktoitness. Finally, all these "classic rock artists" should realize their day is done and enjoy retirement unless they are going to add something significant to their catalog a la Van Morrison (but even he's getting tired sou
  22. I was readin in rolling stone the other night that Detroit audiences are the best rock n roll audiences in the world. I thought to myself, "shiiiiiit, I knew that for ten years!!!". - Bob You can't grow up in the D without digging at least one Seger tune, it's mandatory. I'll always take Get Out of Denver, and if the mood is right, Night Moves. I just listened to Smokin OP's the other day, so it's kinda funny to have someone ask about Bob. If you get the chance to catch a screening of "10 for 2" about the John Sinclair freedom concert in Ann Arbor in the early seventies do it. There is som
