  1. My wife and I will be there in the front row. It is my first time that close for any show and I'm extremely geeked. We've got our fingers crossed for lots of setlist craziness. As if front row tickets for my fave band weren't enough the venue is 10 min. from my fave brewery - Great Lakes Brewing Co.
  2. First, I'll burn each show. Then I will do each album. And then... Plus, I'm going to totally geek out on the artwork for each disc. Hey, a man's gotta have a hobby.
  3. Bless you tapers!!! Bless you one and all!!!
  4. We're seeing the boys in Cleveland right after the residency, so I'm hoping for those "dividends". The injection of some "new" songs into the set list has definitly got me a bit more pumped than usual for the show (our front row tickets don't hurt either). While the setlist is a bit predictable, I've seen Wilco 5 or 6 times over the last couple of years and they played at the very least one song I hadn't seen before. Compared to MOST bands that is pretty damned good.
  5. Me and a buddy of mine killed a six pack of random high test Bell's stuff last weekend. There was a cherry stout, expedition stout, a couple different years of eccentric ale. The kicker is they were all at least 8-10 years old. This was the last of my once extensive beer cellar. Thinking of my cellar, I'll toss this one in. This'll help you make it through the winter.
  6. Thanks everyone for the great Christmas tunes! Mine were getting a little stale. However, the first tune I did play for the kids this year was "Christmas in Hollis". I have a great live version of Chris Isaak doing the Dradle Song as himself then a spot on Wille Nelson then doing Pretty Paper. A really great old country Christmas tune.
  7. That is what the Mrs. and I are hoping. We scored row A tickets to Cleveland, so we decided (actually reality and our checkbook decided) that we wouldn't even try for Saturday in Chicago. The fact that the venue is 10 minutes from one of my favorite North American breweries didn't hurt either. I just hope the boys have a little left in their gas tank after THE concert event of 08.

    wtf!!!!!!!!

The Mrs. passed up row L on the Musictoday presale yesterday in the hopes of re-entering and scoring better seats. Alas she was shut out. She tried the Nokia presale this morning and we're in the front row center stage (WOO HOO) . Merry Christmas to us. It pays to keep trying.
  9. First the Declaration: I AM a Stander Dammnit!!! And the missus' Declaration: I'm a dancer, a good dancer!!! (like Leroy from Fame) Next the set list: Either Way You Are My Face IATTBYH Pot Kettle Black (Yessss!!!!) Handshake Drugs Side with the Seeds Shot in the Arm Via Chicago Impossible Germany SBS Too Far Apart (huh?) Walken ITMWLY Hummingbird (w/ Andrew Bird) In A Future Age (w/ A.B.) Spiders (w/ A.B.) Encore 1: Jesus Etc. (w/ A.B.) Hate It Here HMD Encore 2: Red Eyed & Blue>I Got U Casino Queen Outta Site Outta Mind Wow!!! A great night was had by our group. Wilco play
  10. I gotta have me some dragon's eggs, so Union Street is the place for me (across the street from the Majestic). Atlas Global Bistro (between Union Street and the Fox) is great as well. And maybe a pint of Ghetto Blaster from Motor City Brewing on Second and Cass(ish). The Missus and I are really really looking forward to the show. Have a great time everyone!!!
  11. Don't forget Van Halen 10/22 @ The Palace After having to sell our 3rd row seats for Massey Hall, my wife and I are extremely happy for a hometown show. We thought we were going to have to make a road trip to catch a show this year (not that we mind). The Fox is a beautiful venue. I've seen Keith Richards, The Smiths, Echo & the Bunnymen, George Clinton and the P-Funk All-Stars, The Alarm, and a bunch of other forgotten bands.
  12. My wife and I had to sell our 3rd row seats, so we've got our fingers crossed for a Deetroit (or as they say in Canada Detroy-it) date this fall. The State would be killer, but far too small. I could live with the opera house. Shit, I'd be happy without having to drive more than 2 hours (though we would).
  13. I've never used Craigslist. How do people usually work out payment for tickets?
  14. Anybody yet? I'm worried!!! I haven't received my tickets yet and I won't be able use them (family crisis). I hope I'll be able to sell them 12 days before the show. It's a real bummer cause these are the best seats I would've had for Wilco (row C on the floor).
  15. Hey all - Just wondering if any of you who ordered tickets for the Massey Hall, Toronto ONT show during the pre-sale on the wilco web site got your tickets yet. we are still waiting for them to come in the mail. Reason i'm asking is that i may not be able to go and may need to sell them. i'm so bummed cause they are great seats. Number of tickets: 2, Seat Locations: Section SEC RSF, Row C, Seats (45, 46) dazzler
  16. Gunslinging Bird (If Charlie Parker were a gunslinger there'd be a whole lotta dead copycats) - Charles Mingus
  17. I'm digging this as well lately. Really waiting for this next week.
