Well, after first listen I have to say my favorite song is "New Moon". Love the descending bass lines, breezy acoustic and prickly/fuzzing JT lead lines.

Hahahah... I had the same thought. Ryan Adams has never sounded more like Bryan Adams then on this new record. All he needs to do is make a music video of him lip syncing in the bottom of a pool

Well, I finally finished The Song of Ice and Fire books (at least the published ones). Whew. Took a while, but really really worth it. It is so good on so many different levels. Clever writing, unconventional structure, the world building, part mystery, part political thriller, part adventure, part fantasy/sci-fi, the monster in the margins, the cliche/trope smashing, the dynamic characters, both familiar and foreign at the same time, ... very very good. For those who have only seen the HBO show, let me recommend the books. You won't be disappointed.

I am such a sucker for the Let's Dance record. I know it was intended to be this commercial hit maker blah blah, but, like you, I was a kid in the early 80s and I ate it up. Still have a soft spot for it.

The 1991 to 1992 years are so damn good.

Well, in my defense, I deliberated exaggerated for humorous effect (or is affect?). Just surprised how often it popped up on the 'least favorite' thread. I am with Atticus: a beautiful song in a class by itself.

Me too. I did see them on the Division Bell Tour, though. Quite the spectacle.

The more i listen to this one, the more I like it. A straight up rock and roll record. Refreshing after a trend (that does not appeal to me) of 80s influenced synth-pop stuff that indie rock seems to be coughing up a lot nowadays. This record has shot up my Best Of 2014 list.

Today I put my two weeks notice in on a company I worked for 12 years. Very weird feeling, but on to bigger and better things (I hope).
