Really like this one

They are an amazingly talented band who put on a great show with a ton of energy. They had moments of true brilliance (like the DeBussy cover). However, they often try stuff that can be called somewhat avant garde or experimental (like the Kid A cover). I prefer them playing the traditional Ameriana stuff over the other. More Carter Family and less Philip Glass. But a minor complaint. They are really good and I would recommend their live show.

How about something by neal stephenson? Like cryptonomicon? I enjoyed that one and I walks the line between humorous and thoughtful (IMHO).

Just finished season three, as well. Heck of a roller coaster this time. Certainly one of the best shows going right now.

The First Great Song You Heard in Concert
anthony replied to roadhse ma's topic in Someone Else's Song
My first concert was Robert Plant on the Manic Nirvana tour in Irvine, California. I do not recall what the opener was for that show but according to setlist.fm, it was probably "Watching You". -
I have no proof of this, but my gut tells me the songs he had stockpiled for LF were used instead on TWEEDY.

I have converted to digital and vinyl only. Stream most everything except for stuff I really like; then get the LP.

This is easily my favorite novel of all time. For fun, I dug up the review I wrote for the book after I finished it. A bit spoilerly, be forewarned. January 30, 2010 I just finished reading David Foster Wallace’s epic novel Infinite Jest. This book is often cited as one of the (if not the) best written by someone of my generation (GenX, don’t you know). I wanted offer my review and miscellaneous comments regarding this work of staggering genius (to borrow a DFW phrase). --- By the way, several spoilers for those who have not read IJ; you are warned --- First off, it is a daunting tas

I was a little shocked by how much needles/carts go for. Not sure what my price range is just yet, but thanks for the recommendation. Gonna read some reviews on that one. -

Wow, that is funny. I was just looking at cartridge upgrades (like a nerd) and that one was on my radar. Had good reviews from what I read. Also considering the Octofon 2M Red. -

No records, but Santa brought me a new turntable: Audio Technica AT-LP120-USB. Such a sweet upgrade from my previous 'starter' TT. Pretty stoked. -
