  1. Thanks. Finally retired my Buddha one after a long time. Wanted to show my SCGC D-12 in all its herringbone finest. Your avatar was a bit of inspiration - hope you don't mind...
  2. Love this song. Epic is the right word. Love IMToD, also. Wicked cool slide work.
  3. I am interested to hear the replies to this, as well. I, too, only play acoustic guitar (never "connected" with the electric; if you know what I mean) and would love to add some color and range sometimes. For pickups, I put a B-Band type in one of my acoustic guitars ( http://www.guitarsaddles.com/bband.asp ). The kind that had a soundboard and under-saddle pup. Then you could blend the two inputs. Undersaddle tends to be "quaky" and soundboard tends to be "weak". So mixing the two balanced everything out. However, my experience is very limited. I am sure others will have better comments.
  4. An interesting Zep choice. If had to choose one from their catalog, it would be
  5. I had originally voted for this (1st impulse sorta decision), but after some reflection, I think I'd vote for either Desolation Row or Simple Twist of Fate
  6. I had the exact same reaction. Some had obvious ties to the GN (Ride of the Valkyries, All Along the Watchtower, ...) but some were odd, to say the least.
  7. Nope. But I read somewhere that it will be integrated into the DVD/BR release.
  8. Just saw the movie and I have to agree with this: you gotta read the GN first. I really, really enjoyed the movie. But I heard some skinny-jeaned teenage girl say to her friend while walking out at the end "did you get it?" It might be touhg to appreciate without having a firm grasp of character/story, etc. But for those nerds who have read it, it was awesome. Brilliant.
  9. Actually, they are quite different. Verses, lyrics, tuning, arrangement, chord progressions, ... I especially think the NY versions of TUIB & Idiot Wind are superior to there Minnesota cousins.
  10. I read this one. Pretty good. Ended too soon. No Rolling Thunder years?
  11. Me, too. Oh well. What can you do? Advice? Uhhhh.... Ummmmm... Don't go subprime with a shaky bank? Make sure you'll still have a source of income 5, 10, 15 years down the road? Only buy a point if you'll stay in the house minimum 10 years?
  12. Oh, crap. Me too. Sorry Jeff.
  13. 1. At least that’s what you said 2. Hell is Chrome 3. Radio Cure 4. Muzzle of Bees 5. Hummingbird 6. Ashes of American flags 7. Heavy metal drummer 8. I’m the man who loves you 9. Pot Kettle Black 10. Poor Places 11. Reservations 12. no YHF entry Tough ones: 2, 3 & 10
  14. Let me recommend Dylan'd Bootleg Seris Volume 5: Rolling Thunder. Great (alternate) versions of Simple Twist & Blue.
  15. The Dylanchords site is good - especially the Open E/D version. But I first learned this song in standard like this: http://www.guitarnoise.com/lesson/tangled-up-in-blue/
  16. This is true. Jeff did not change the lyrics. He used what Dylan usually sang live after the record was recorded (he is notorious for this - especially the BotT songs). I actually love the alternate version. The "caught me in my prime" lyric is just devastating.
  17. After to listening to the I'm Not There version, I am convinced it is in standard like Kalle chorded out. The descending C - C/B - Am is the giveaway, methinks. Speaking of alternate versions of Blood on the Tracks, has anyone heard the alternate "New York" takes of Idiot Wind and Tangled Up In Blue (both in Open E)? Just stumbled across these and am really digging them.
  18. This is usually true - especially of late. But Jeff does have a beautiful Gibson SJ-200 in his arsenal. There is a vid (in the IATTBYH DVD?) with him playing Acuff Rose with it.
  19. Ha! Yes it is. Open E: e |-----0------0------0----------0-| R B |-4h5---4\2-0------0-----------0-| E G#|--------------0h1----1-1p0----0-| P E |---------------------------0--0-| E B |--------------------------------| A E |--------------------------------| T
