After reading about some other VC'ers latest experiences at a Dylan show (mostly negative, that he's hit or miss from night to night) I was resigned to just take it as is and be ok with a sub-par show. Man, I wish a tide of orange would sweep across Canada. I voted for the NDP in my riding, which makes me feel good that I will be giving the party the $1.75 (or whatever it is) per vote. However, other than that my vote will be a complete waste. The only votes that matter are the ones that are cast for the winning MP in each riding. If you don't happen to vote for that person then your vote doesn't matter. And because this is a single member plurality (a majority isn't needed to win), this means that in some consituencies, the Majority of people's vote may not matter.

The two songs that affected me the most were Fljotavik and Vidrar vel til Loftalasa and they both caused me to tear up because they are just so damn beautiful. The audience was awesome, being incredibly quiet until the very last note of each song had died out and then a huge applause erupted. It really was one of the best concerts i have ever been to (not that i've been to A LOT of shows). Then a funny thing happened when the gang from Parachutes came out to do some drumming on Gobbledigook, they were all dressed in Star Wars costumes which gave Jonsi a really big laugh. Just wanted to see if there is anymore love for Chad VanGaalen at this point. I just saw him in Vancouver on Thursday night to a sold out crowd and it was AWESOME! I bought his new record, Soft Airplane, and I like it much more than his past 2 releases. It is more of a cohesive album IMO with no clunkers in the mix. I really liked about half of his other songs on each previous album, and the rest never really grew on me.
