this video of a Chavez soundcheck also gives a good idea of the size of Warsaw and this one gives a good idea of what it's like to be up front. (another: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TLBByDhGOk)

yeah it was never meant to be a total duet. it's just Neal and Sheryl quietly in the back, with Ryan's vocal upfront. there's definitely a softer, cooler vibe going on on Easy Tiger, which reflects the title of the album perfectly, come to think of it. the album will be pretty straightforward and accessible with all these new songs on them. i'm looking forward to 'Oh My God, Whatever Etc' and "Rip Off" and "Two Hearts" especially. wish "Judy Garland" was on there. same with "Trouble On Wheels" we'll see.

"Someone told me that Warsaw is going to have the bulk of the tickets and not Irving so looks like its Warsaw Fri night for me." found this posted on BrooklynVegan. i believe this news. go to Warsaw, y'all. jhh, sorry man. i unfortunately won't be able to buy tickets on Saturday because i'm off to Chicago for work. which is why i decided to try out the presale. someone do this guy a favor. ANYONE. haha. but yeah, my apologies dude.

i wish i could get Hammerstein tickets. haha. anyone ordered Will Call as well? was there a UPS shipping option?
-
i can't believe i got a ticket. crazy.. like an idiot though i ordered the tickets "Will Call" instead of UPS shipping. but i'm not there was a UPS shipping option. oh well.

listening to Blueberry Boat when it was first released was baffling. a few more listens revealed it's beauty. what a great record that is.
-
yeah. there it is. thanks so much for posting it. i really really hope i can get tickets..

it's borderline williamsburg and greenpoint in brooklyn. go figure. you can walk for 5 minutes after the show or before the show to Bedford Avenue and chill around W-burg or take the L train on N7th Street to Manhattan easy. Warsaw is a fairly small venue compared to Hammerstein. It's as big as Irving Plaza, maybe slightly bigger. I haven't gone in over six years so I don't recall exactly. many great bands have played there over the years, from Modest Mouse to Godspeed You! Black Emperor to Yo La Tengo, etc. it's a intimate setting for a band like Wilco. i just hope their setlist will be long

i've heard most of these songs so far and i can't wait to hear how they sound recorded in the studio. should be great. also can't wait Clinch's goddamn documentary to come out, goddamn. haha.
-
depending on the ticket prices, i'll see what i can do jhh.
-
same here, i grew up down Driggs Ave a few blocks. i'm so excited. didn't get a ticket to hammerstein cause it sold out so quick. but man, warsaw. never thought i'd see Wilco there. pretty intimate venue compared to Hammerstein. i'll definitely be on line at Irving next saturday morning. haha.

well said Paul.

You Are My Face, definitely.
-
i think so too. either that or i'm too dumb to come up with a possible meaning. because it sounds nice is very much a likely reason. i love my songwriting that way anyway.

without a doubt.

beautiful, beautiful album. 'After The Flood' is without a doubt one of the best songs ever written.

41 pages, jesus. haha.

its a good album but Wilco have the potential to do so much better. AGIB isn't even my fav album but the songs on there seem so much better than most of these new tracks. fuller and packed with an instant musical uppercut. my favorite song is You Are My Face. the only song, more so than Impossible Germany actually, that I think is up to par with their recent and even older songs. it sounds like a marriage between She's A Jar (the verses) and At Least That's What You Said (at 1:30) 3:21 - 3:25 on Impossible Germany is incredibly beautiful. such a little moment but so sweet and sad. and th

Any lyrics on the new album in particular stand out to you?
noyes replied to magusmachine's topic in Just A Fan
"oh i'll side with you if you side with me" reminded me of "and if you don't underestimate me i won't underestimate you." no lyrics have really stood out. not yet. edit: although i like that one llynn, haha. -
when i heard the first three songs, "Either Way" to "Impossible Germany" it felt pleasant and the word "mellow" was mostly used to describe the feel of the album. but after awhile it got to be too mellow for its own good. the songs, like others have already said, didn't have enough distinction, something that every record from Summerteeth to AGIB has had. i was listening to AGIB last night while my brother played WoW and listened to 'Company In My Back' and it had soul, it was moving and inviting and that little tack piano part (or whatever that is) after "holy shit.. there's company in the my

it sounds just like "Birthday" haha
-
they explain in the "Help" link. if you're on windows go to "control panel" and then "quicktime" then advanced and "enable flash.. etc" this is sounding so beautiful. these songs are so mellow.
-
oops sorry haha. i thought you meant the film. i've seen those archival outtakes, but yes, commentary would be great.

4 months old? play him Time Out by the Dave Brubeck Quartet. every baby needs a bit of Paul Desmond in their ears.

the beautiful Gibson B-25. that's a rare color scheme, off-white pickguard and all.
