in Australia, there's a company called Liberation Blue. what they do is release semi-acoustic albums from older artists, but with new recordings of their songs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberation_Blue

Christchurch New Zealand Earthquake...
froggie replied to remphish1's topic in Tongue-Tied Lightning
i wouldnt have a clue!. could be cause we have different football leagues. we dont have anything against NZ. its been all over tv and radio today and everyone has their deepest sympathys. we just laugh at their accent. for example, say this in a NZ accent - "i soon became listless, skidded on some chip dip, tripped and ripped my knitted windcheater" we're sending people over first thing in the morning to help them. what was the sh*t they were saying about us? -

65 dead and counting.. good thoughts to all people over the tasman. on the bright side, since its all over the news here, we can laugh at the NZ'ers accents! -
got knocked off it by a huge dog, and broke my arm when i was 4 years old - fond memories..... not!

Bands you wish that you had seen, but missed the chance
froggie replied to PopTodd's topic in Someone Else's Song
um, the reason why i missed the chance to to see those bands is cause i was either too young, or not - blame my parents for that at least i've seen page/plant/jones on stage - pity not together and it is "He". well, last time i checked it was! -

beatles led zeppelin pink floyd warren zevon gordon lightfoot i've seen john fogerty twice (even met him), but it doesnt compare to see the original CCR on stage -
that last photo of Pat, i thought it was an old pic of John Fogerty!

written by Gary Frost, who went on to play guitar with 1927 - one of my favourite bands of all time. i've always loved the song
-
he started doing this at the start of last year. occasionally he does his charlie chaplin walk to the front of the stage with just the harp and "croons" (or croaks) his way through about 3 or 4 songs during the show
-
where are you tonight - bob dylan are you gonna go my way - lenny kravitz did ye get healed - van morrison not that they even deserves a mention, but there's also how will i know - whitney houston how am i supposed to live with you - michael bolton how can we be lovers - michael bolton
-
he does quite a bit of centre stage these days without an instrument. for me, it was the arrangement that nailed it
-
i heard they were adjusting the vocal volume as he started the tune..... you cant predict old Zimmy
-
great version!. sounds like the 2 acoustic versions he did in 2002 in the UK. the voice isnt what it used to be, but the arrangement and the fact that he wasnt dressed in his cowboy outfit with a wedding cake on his head made it enjoyable!
-
did they appear to accept it?. they're not being shown in australia on tv. congrats Jeff! oh and how come no one's said "fuck the grammys!"

call me the black sheep, but after a frustrating AGIB, i've loved SBS and WTA and thought that the band is back again! -
i'm not big on Mary Ann, but the rest is a fun listen... especially sarah jane. ps: has anyone mentioned Volume 1 from the traveling wilburys?
-
yep, thats Bangladesh. he did a mean-arse version of Hard rain's gonna fall as well. best version i've heard and he made it sound melodic, compared to the original. cant find a clip on youtube though

i wish Jimmy would finally turn off his TV and put the remote away, and finally do what he's been hinting for the last 10 years. is it ok if i post this link to the Led Zep mailing list, or should we leave it here? -
its not the songs, but more like robert's "helium" voice
