  1. Damn. Taper sitting right infront of me, about to email him. I think I saw one more besides that. Met Saint. Genevieve, that was cool (hey!). Talked to Jeff for a bit, that will keep me smiling for the next year. Asked him what model the parlor sized Martin was (which now escapes me, oh well), and told him my VC name (in context it was a good idea, in hindsight not so much). Got my poster signed though. Great show again, I wish this wasn't the last night (for me on this tour).
  2. I converted a bunch of emails (tens of thousands) into .pdf format for a law firm this past summer. While I ignored most of them (it was the white collar equivilant of putting caps on bottles), a few things came up that I laughed at. Sitting there all day archiving partner's golf plans 8 hours a day got a little old though.
  3. Yeah, it seemed the first 10 rows of people were listening and most of the back was talking as loud as possible. Ohhh well.
  4. "Student Load Stereo" is great, jarring though after John's mellow introduction though. I'm gonna try to get ahold of him and see if he can record a "Go to sleep Bret" track to play at night.
  5. Hey Toni, welcome. The Dallas show definitly was the "other type of audience" Jeff was talking about last night, both we're great for what they were. Don't you agree Scott's set went WAY better than Dallas though? The drums and horns helped flesh it out a bit. The end of "Dear Employer" needs to be cut short though.
  6. When I get a chance I'll take a picture of the poster from the show. I didn't get to make it to the Marfa show but they still had some left when they came to Austin.
  7. Some people just. don't. get it. Unfortuantly a lot of these people write for widely read publications. (DrNo, I did enjoy your article however.)
  8. I thought I magically slept all day and through the show for a second.
  9. I doubt he "screwed up" on it. Jeff has the right to play the songs however he feels live. Just like I heard some dude saying he botched "children in the playground, folks in the home(at the show)." on Acuff Rose. The only real mess up was the lead out to Acuff Rose, which he lauged about.
  10. And don't forget possibily the longest and funniest attempt at Jesus Etc. ever, at least that I've heard.
  11. Another outstanding show, and a great crowd. Someone from Marfa made Jeff a t-shirt saying "Jeff Leopard: Pour some Tweedy on me" Hopefully there was a recorder there. A lot of hilarious banter went on tonight. Anyone get a set list? Edit: I'm an idiot...I meant 07.
  12. The Terrible Two's "If You Ever See An Owl" It's Matt Pryor from The New Amsterdams and The Get Up Kids side project for children. Alt-Countryish mixed with some clean pop.
  13. I'd like to find it too. I haven't seen it in forever. NBC needs to wise up and allow videos from their shows to be posted on YouTube.
  14. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere or if I missed anything, but did anyone notice Jeff didn't play the harmonica on any of the songs (he picked it up once or twice but then put it down). I wonder if that's happened at the other shows.
  15. Yeah, it definitly started to feel like a Wilco show (and Jeff confirmed it when he was joking with the guy standing next to me that if he played Dash 7 he would get ran out of the place). We're you the guy with your daughter next to you in the black stocking cap Thomas?
  16. Absoloutly incredible. Crowd was really loud during Scott's set, and the jackass behind me wouldn't stop yelling for "Company In My Back", but all in all it was a great experiance. Can't wait for Austin. I'll write more later but now I must go to sleep. P.S. I was front row stage right with a green jacket and dark hair, if anyone from here was near me. Hopefully somebody can get a setlist up, as I forgot my pen and paper in the car.
  17. Alright, I'm setting out, see you all there.
  18. Scott McCaughey I'm ready I'm ready I'm ready
  19. I'd heckle anyone seen using an Ovation too.
  20. I'm gonna show up around 6-6:30 most likely, I'm kinda thinking it's 7:00.
  21. Thanks for the write up, I should print this out on flyers and pass it out tomorrow before the Dallas show.
  22. Not a surprised at all. It would have been a great song on the new Solomon Burke LP, but it never seemed like a song Jeff would put on an album. Not to say that I don't enjoy the song, it just seems like it would stick out like a sore thumb (at least when placed in previous LPs). Edit: Walken beat me to that. =)
