Do you make ALOT of money, I mean a whole ton? Naperville is a nice enough place, but very expensive. You don't get to be the best place to bring up kids without high property values and high taxes. Naperville has both. Strange how this thread has turned into a discussion of Naperville. Not a horrid place if you like chain restaurants downtown and lots of stuck up white people......(welcome back walrus.... ) Not too far from Chicago? Actually it is at the far end of the next county (DuPage) and people from Naperville rarely get to the city since it is nearly an hour by car to downtown

ECM is not a guilty pleasure really is it? Lots of great records on ECM going back 30 years. If anything ECM is pretty old music. Clearly Sun Ra, Braxton, and other forms of less traditional inprovisational music is jazz. Sun Ra played mainstream during his early days and his bands were always based on a a big band model. Yea, I dunno, same old shit mostly. Listened to John McCaughlin My Goals Beyond, with Charlie Haden, Jerry Goodman, Dave Liebman and others that was quite good, accoustic type stuff, I picked up used on vinyl. Got a Muhal Richard Abrams with Roscoe Mitchell that is interesting called Streams. Picked up an early Ken Vandermark duets thing called Standards. The Mary Stafford and Edith Wilson sides on Archeophone, which is early blues/vaudville is good stuff if you like early jazz type material. That's about it. Excuse my ignorance, who is MMW? Can't seem to pick out who this i

Yea, okay, I guess we sort of agree about this... Reissuing his book at this time seems a bit unwise, but then maybe Bill wants to capitalize on his new found fame and pad his retirement account. LouieB

Sorry..not bullshit and I am not the only one who feels this way...Nader plays the spoiler...a person who can't and doesn't really want to win really. If he came to a party he would be thrown out..... Doesn't matter it is over... LouieB

Happy Birthday!!! Hope to end up down your way someday. LouieB

Imagine what that convo would have been like. Jimi's background was mostly blues and R&B. I think we are better off with him having been this way instead of more jazzy. LouieB

Wow....more intelligent, not sure, more capable, maybe. The kind of power (and I do mean power) that Cheney had is a problem, even if it is Biden, if it means playing to big oil, starting a war under false pretenses, encroaching on civil liberties, undermining Congress, etc. etc., yea, that is a big fucking problem. But if Biden merely assists Obama in managing foreign affairs and legislation, not a problem at all (and not power...) LouieB
