Well that's weird. LouieB

Never thought I would say this, but Marco Rubio, despite me disagreeing with him on most things, may be the sanest person in the race so far. And may be the best they are going to get in terms of electability. LouieB

Saw Glenn at Elmhurst a dog's age ago. LouieB

That's stupid too. LouieB

But just in case make sure you have a big honkin' shot-gun. LouieB

Now that Wilco is back in INdy everyone can calm the fuck down. Okay? LouieB

Rand Paul is a demagogue of the worst order. As I have heard him described with the 5 minute rule; you can listen to him for 5 minutes and he seems reasonable until he hits on those crazy things like opposing gay marriage, opposing abortion, and wanting more defense spending although doesn't want foreign wars. I think him entering the race will be great. The more nut balls running the better. At some point Jeb Bush may sound like a reasonable mainline candidate and the powers that be will brush aside Paul, Cruz, and all the evangelicals. It's going to be interesting. LouieB

I am also going to chime in one more time and say I am done with Hixter as well. It was extremely helpful to hear his whole life story the other day because now I understand. As a rugged, independent, and individualistic American I really can't counteract his belief that everyone should just buckle down and do for themselves and not expect the government to do anything for them. That's all well and good and I commend him for his life choices. I suppose everyone should do the same thing, but lots of folks simply can't . So us bleeding heart types will have to carry on and hope that there is

Thanks Folkgirl, whomever you are. You are completely correct. It is time to end this now. There are unfortunately no words to convince folks who can't see (as my mother used to say) beyond the end of their noses. LouieB

That's totally irrelevant. The center of most people's universe is themselves, LouieB

This is a pretty pathetic thread here. Lots of folks have chimed in on the side I believe. This is a rock band cancelling one show because they believe it is right. If you don't like it, find another band to obsess about. Those of you who think Wilco did the wrong thing are pathetic. Remember people, the band DOES read this stuff. Wilco tours pretty constantly and in all parts of the world. They are not here to meet your every need. They have given us so much over the last two decades. Even if you feel like they haven't put out great albums lately they always put on great shows. Jeff

If anyone is freaked out about Wilco cancelling this show then they don't really understand or care about this band and it is time to find some other band to obsess about. LouieB

I had to check this, but there are some Halsted stops, just not on the Brown or Red lines (North side chauvinism I guess.) LouieB

Yea all his fault. Bravo Wilco. Plenty of other states and countries to play in. You can't fight every battle, but this current one is worth the trouble. LouieB

Very cool. Sad for the fans, but it is time for you guys in Indiana to vote this asshole out; not that you can. Sorry for you though. Between whole cities and states stopping their business with Indiana (and a few corporations), the Indiana legislature can stick it up their homophobic (and totally bigoted) asses. So which stupid ass Wilco fans are objecting to this? What do they want, shut up and sing? LouieB

I wish I could work up enough interest in this new album to go buy it. On the off topic there are more music docs coming out than anyone can ever watch in one lifetime. This is a good thing in one way, because the number of seminal figures that will die in the next few years is going to be monumental. There is a Doug Sahm doc that is coming out soon, a worthy topic. Why are we even talking about racism here? This is about homophobia mostly. It is also about trying to cover homophobia by invoking religious freedom. It is all horrible. The last bastion of racism and homophobia (or any kind of bigotry be it soft core or hard core) is denying bias entirely. LouieB

The Hundred Year War with the Arabs is going swimmingly. I am sure Cruz wants to keep it going as long as possible. As for Bergdahl, a court marshal seems appropriate. At least the facts can get aired and he can either spent time in prison or get the boot and go home. More than the residents in Cuba are getting. LouieB

Last week may have been my worst ever

Really sorry to hear this. Hang in there. LouieB -
Listened to the complete Basement Tapes the last few weeks. They really threw every scrap at us. Cool stuff though. LouieB

Yea, it was a very good one. It was a nice piece of filmmaking too. You don't have to necessarily be interested in the person to appreciate it. (It helps though.) LouieB

Yea, I doubt I ever will check out Head East. And no I didn't ask about Farrar, since he can barely fill some of the venues he performs in anymore. Meanwhile Wilco is a huge international music act. Go figure. LouieB

I have seen lots of Head East LPs in used record stores over the years and never even thought to buy one. I suppose I should pick up a cheap copy and check them out, just so I can say I know something about them. Still it is shocking that people don't know about Wilco at all hardly. Some had a passing acquaintance with the name but little else. LouieB

The first Three Dog Night album was one of the first LPs I bought when I got to college. Once again the guy is just two years older than I am. RIP. LouieB

I suppose this is the place to talk about this. As some of you know who are my Facebook friends, I am wrapping up a three week stay in Belleville, IL. I am down here on work. Cool town by the way. Although I have not gone crazy asking everyone I meet whether they know who Jeff Tweedy and Wilco is/are, I have gotten more blank stares or disinterest when I bring it up. Just yesterday at a local Catholic school I ran into a couple people who went to Belleville West HS and they had no idea who Jeff or Wilco is. So frankly if you meet just regular people and talk about Wilco and get blank star
